마리나 테라시즈(Marina Terraces Port Douglas)

The pics on the property's website paint a different picture to what we experienced. The internal stairs to the second floor are utilitarian. Felt like being in a carpark building. The two bedroom apar**ent with roof terrace was quite stark and unwelcoming. Basic and uncomfortable black vinyl sofa and very little else in the living space. And the stairs to the rooftop terrace are not for the faint hearted. Even the manager advised she doesn't like negotiating them; let alone with food and drinks. No views from the rooftop terrace unless you stand and look over the top. Just awful. We were moved to a 'luxury' ground floor apar**ent near the pool. The apar**ent was dark, and dim and we needed to keep the lights on to give any feeling of space. Bathroom and laundry spaces were fairly basic and no way we would call this luxury. The main bedroom and zero storage spaces apart from hangars and we needed to use the second bedroom shelving to place our folded clothing etc. One tea towel and one hand towel for the total stay of 7 days. The pool area is open to the road with no feeling of being in a tropical garden. Note the photo on the website doesn't show the fence to the road on the right of the picture. It felt very exposed to public view. Overall, we felt the property was looking tired with patch-up jobs in various spots in the two apar**ents we viewed. Had we realised these were individually owned and then re-let through a pool we would have simply gone through Air BnB to choose something with more a**osphere and privacy. On the last two days of our stay, builders moved in to begin renovation on an apar**ent on the floor above ours. The noise was awful as we jumped out of our skin when something huge crashed into a bin outside. And then the drilling started. Just imagine this on your holiday! We were never pre-warned about any possible renovations happening during our stay and would never have chosen this apar**ent option had we known prior to confirmation of booking. Management did not accept that this was a problem as they restricted the time the tradesman worked. That's not relevant. What is relevant is the fact that the tradesmen were there and the drilling was a huge disturbance to our peace and quiet. This experience has completely turned us off ever booking a holiday apar**ent in the future. Luxury Escapes offer a 5* experience at a luxury resort for the same price so we definitely wouldn't class this as 'affordable accommodation' We know hospitality as we have worked in tourism through our whole working lives, so we have travelled and stayed at numerous accommodations around the world, many luxury apar**ents. We were hugely disappointed and we cannot recommend Marina Terraces.

We really liked the location, near to beach and Macrossan St. Greg & Michelle were super friendly, helpful and made our stay very easy. Highly recommend

The pool is the best feature of this property. Heated. Great bbq area and enough chairs to relax on. Location of the property is also ideal. 4 mins from beach and shops. Would highly recommend.

We have stayed in Port Douglas 4 times over the years. I’ve always booked whatever accommodation has been affordable and given the best value. This was our first time staying at Marina Terraces. The positive reviews had definitely lived up to its reputation! We were even more impressed when we arrived. We stayed in apar**ent #7. The apar**ent had a spacious layout, was clean, and nicely decorated. The apar**ent complex is quiet, has a brand new pool, and is possibly what was the best location to walk to the shops or go to the beach. It literally had everything at your doorstep! Marina Terraces has now hit the top of our list of places to stay in Port Douglas! We will definitely be returning in future.

The Managers Greg & Michelle where very easily to deal with and only a phone call, message, or chat away to help with questions/Concerns. Only downside is there is quite a few stairs to go up a down daily, Next time ill be sure to book a lower level room. Thank you for having as us stay, Ben & Family

Immaculate, apar**ent just has everything. Lovely hosts. Pool was nice. Close to beach and village. Had a great stay.

Marina Terrace holiday apar**ents expresses a homely decor with balconies that enables you to sit out and enjoy the surroundings. Walking distance to shopping area and marina. Sincere gratitude to Michelle who constantly kept in touch with my enquiries via email and in person with her beautiful persona and obliging assistance.

Very clean and tidy place, great location lose to everything. Nice and quiet and the Hosts Michelle and Greg were super friendly accommodating and very helpful. Worth every cent! I highly recommend staying at this place if you are wanting to visit Port Douglas.

Marina Terraces are well placed to explore Port Douglas. 2 min walk to the main drag where the shops and restaurants are. Plus a short walk to 4mile beach. Apar**ent was clean and spacious with covered parking.
