Villa Majestic for Exclusive Accommodation

We loved the setup.The view was breathtaking. Accommodations was excellent and hosts were very kind and lovely. The rooms were comfortable and the bed was comfortable. Our room had a large shower. Theres nice views from the property. Breakfast was excellent

Like Estate Agents, it is understandably the job of the B&B owner to use a bit of hyperbole to entice the prospective guest in. Herein lies the difficulty - nothing stated is untrue. For instance the views are stunning…if you are on the second floor which we weren’t . The executive suite is large and well-appointed, if you like shiny satin decor and heavy, dark wood with pictures of proteas and cape homesteads, But and this is a big BUT, it looks onto a facebrick wall in a a covered passageway which means there is absolutely no view and no natural light. We arrived when the electricity was off and it was a bit like entering a cave. Having said this, the reviews seem to indicate that a lot of people love this spot so each to his own taste. Décor aside, our hostess, Burnette, was gracious and concerned, and immediately made an arrangement for us to swop to the second b&b room for which my wife, who struggles with claustrophobia, was eternally grateful. The room we settled in met our needs and was comfortable and, most importantly ,had a large window which let in the sun. The bathroom was large and clean. Unfortunately, because of the electrical fault, the water was like warm on our first morning and ice cold on our second. Breakfasts were perfect and the hostess and her husband and the uniformed staff were warm and efficient. We retired onto the balcony after for coffee after breakfast and from here the views of the sea and coast were good. I cannot describe the place as four star, we have stayed in many places we would consider more luxurious and better appointed. In my view it is a place of two parts - clean, well run, well kept and good, old fashioned hospitality however what we got for our money in accommodation from a ‘4 star’ seaside b&b was not what we expected. Some people will think it is lovely, kitch furnishings, pictures and all, it wasn’t really our thing. Burnette, however, gets 5 stars for discretion, hospitality and effort.

We loved our stay here. It was well equipped with everything you need, great attention to detail. Comfy beds and lovely sea views from the balcony. Host was very responsive and communicative.
