마세리아 수사파(Susafa)

The hotel is set in the most magnificent place. It is as if one has stepped into a painting from a bygone era…lush, rolling hills, quaint farmhouses,and nothing but the sounds of birds and industrious bees to distract one from the sounds of nature. The food matches the landscape-natural, wholesome, and bursting with colors and flavor. The staff were welcoming and professional. The pool area is absolutely stunning. It is a little oasis and a nature lover’s paradise.

Susafa was perfect in every way! At the end of our stay, we tried really hard to think of something that we would change, and we couldn’t think of anything! It’s that great! We stayed there for three nights and the weather was perfect. The meals are simple, fresh, and amazing. We spent the day relaxing at the pool, taking walks around the property, meeting and talking to all the wonderful staff and the owner himself. They even have a book in each room explaining the beginnings of Sufafa which is an amazing story.

The road to the resort is awful, the extremely isolated spot is in a ***** landscape of abandoned fields of burned straw. Car park is unattended, outside the property, on a public road. Our 400 euros classic room is very small and simply furnished, with no windows and bad wi-fi connection. The lack of TV is intentionally considered a plus. In the restaurant, international staff can be reassuring for the typical foreign guest, but they cannot be able to offer and share with empathy the real flavour of the Sicilian menu. In the middle of the dinner we were forgotten, empty dishes lingered on the table, then we abruptly decided to leave and go to sleep. If you look for a peaceful retreat in Sicily, it's very easy to find a lot better for a much less...

I traveled to Sicily with my 2 adult daughters. Our first stop was Susafa, in the middle of Sicily. We landed in Palermo, rented a car and drove through the beautiful countryside. The Masseria is beautifully restored with an old, deep history. They were control burning the wheat fields and that added an extra smell and vision to our trip . Unfortunately they could not accommodate 3 of us in one room so we my daughters were in a smaller room near the pool and I stayed in a beautiful suite above the bar and old winery. The room had a beautiful view, living room, large soaking bathtub and a very comfortable bed. Meals were served in the old grainery, which is a beautiful brick building with large arches and a huge fireplace. The dinner service was great. All of our waitstaff were very nice and helpful. The food was excellent, as fresh as you can imagine . We also ate lunch and breakfast there which was equally delicious. We didn’t leave the property and enjoyed walks around the wheat fields, laying by the pool and relaxing . We did take a cooking class which was fun and educational. It did not include eating what we made ?? I think it would be nice to include that too . We saw one of the owners, we didn’t get a chance to meet him. But we did meet his very friendly dog. When I returned home to the US, I did order some of their pasta, olive oil and tomato sauce. My daughter had left her retainer in her room and they kindly included it in the package . I don’t think I’ve ever left an item that was actually found and returned . Another example of their excellent service . And to get to have these beautiful products delivered to my house was a great treat ! We hope to return ! It was magical .

We stayed in August and were really excited following a recommendation from a friend. Unfortunately as there was a large group staying at the same time, the experience wasn’t as special as we had hoped, with our bookings being moved to prioritise the other guests, sound checks being done at the pool while we were there during the day as the group had a band in the evening by the pool, and not being able to use some of the facilities as they were private for the group. We understand these things happen and large groups good but other guests should not be de prioritised in such an obvious way. The worst thing is that since emailing some feedback at the end of September direct to the hotel we still haven’t heard back from staff members. It just doesn’t really sit right. The service really wasn’t great throughout our stay and given the price point would have expected much better.

Staying at this charming Sicilian countryside retreat was an absolute delight. The old farmhouse, beautifully restored and transformed into a luxury retreat, provided the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. The unbeatable sunsets and breathtaking landscape views made each evening unforgettable. The service was truly spectacular, and the staff made us feel like we were part of their family. And let's not forget the food – which tasted so fresh, flavorful and delicious, truly a culinary journey. We took a Sicilian cookery class and got to experience how much care, passion and love the chef puts into preparing the dishes. I highly recommend the aperitifs in the fields for spectacular, and truly epic sunset views! This place is a hidden gem, and I can't wait to return for another unforgettable stay!

This is really a beautiful place. We stayed here for just one night and were so sad that we couldn't stay longer (we tried, but they were sold out). We were greeted with a welcome cocktail while they moved our luggage into the room and then we enjoyed a leisurely lunch in their lovely dining room. Afterwards, we got to sample their freshly made tomato sauce (hot from the steaming pan - super cool). We spent some time sitting around the pool in the late afternoon and finished the evening with a delicious dinner. Dreaming of the day we can return and stay a little longer.

We have loved our stay at Masseria Susafa. We couldn’t believe the growth and additional enchan**ent since the last time we were here. So many new romantic vistas and activities. The new pool and lunch area were a perfect way to spend our afternoons. And the private picnic experience on the hill. Wow! We didn’t know what to expect and it blew us away. From the personal driver in a vintage Land Rover, to the five-star Sicilian food and wine in a romantic perch high among the treetops… Absolutely unforgettable. Our suite was in a wing facing a lush garden under the trees and you could just sit and envision yourself as a part of this incredible narrative — luxury among nature — timeless tradition. And the staff were so attentive and caring. They kindly added a mini fridge to our room upon request and answered our eager questions about the history of the farm as we explored the estate. It was lovely to see the young owner and his family around the grounds. The vision he is creating in this intimate setting of wheat and stone and heritage is actually indescribable. We plan to continue the tradition of coming here whenever we are in Sicily.

Hospitality is all about at Susafa . We drove to the hotel very late at night (not recommended 😀) , and we can’t figure out the direction to the hotel because the road is not very well maintained.. so we called the hotel and they provided all the help possible and even drive out to the road to look for us. We arrived at the hotel and was not disappointed. Beautiful hotel and hospitality services at the hotel are really appreciated. Baking food at the hotel was the best I have eaten in Sicily, simple and fresh. We would be back 😀
