We recently stayed five nights at the San Michele Suites and had a wonderful time. The pictures really don’t do justice. The hotel had recently reopened (closed during the winter). April is a great time to visit Puglia - it’s a little cold to go swimming, but the towns are are open and there are no crowds. San Michele Suites is located in the old part of Polignano e Mare - it’s right on a cliff overlooking one of the most famous beaches in Puglia. There are no cars allowed in this part of town, so you need to make your way with luggage by walking (the staff help). Polignano e Mare itself is a great small cliffside town with a lot of restaurants and easy accessabilty to other towns in Puglia. In fact, we used it as our base to visit Monopoli, Alberobello, Cisternino, Matera, and Bari. The hotel is very much an ultra boutique property with only a handful of rooms. There is no onsite gym or restaurant, but the property is literally a stone’s throw from everything so you don’t miss it. Breakfast is served in a room off the lobby and is just wonderful. Fresh pastries, juices, coffees, fruit, bread and then anything hot made to order (eggs, pancakes, toasts, etc.). It was probably the best breakfast we had over two weeks in Italy. The housekeeping service is spectacular- the rooms was cleaned twice a day - towels, water, coffee was replenished each time and we had absolutely no complaints. Our room overlooked the cliff and was just amazing. We opened our window / door each day to a lovely ocean breeze. The view was out of a postcard. The room was a beach / coastal motif, which was very relaxing. We had plenty of space with a separate sitting area, two tvs, a fridge, coffee maker, etc. I would note that the hotel does have a winding circular staircase, and don’t think they have an elevator. We really didn’t mind as the location was perfect and rooms were great. Lastly, I would point out the fantastic service we received each day. Despite the small size of the hotel, they helped to arrange everything - advice on sights to see, where to eat, what to do, etc. No request was too great. We had a wonderful time at San Michele Suite and hope to return someday

My wife and I just finished our stay at this fabulous suite where we were treated like royalty. The view from our balcony may be one of the most spectacular in all of Italy. We were delivered an amazing breakfast every morning that would rival any 5 star restaurant. If you are looking for an unforgettable experience, San Michele Suites is a must.

We stayed in the Terrace Suite for 2 of the best nights we have ever spent in a hotel. The terrace overlooks one of the most iconic spots in Puglia. The room is absolutely fantastic. That alone would be enough. However, the entire staff of this charming small hotel is what made our stay so great. From our text exchanges when booking, to their spot on travel advice, fantastic breakfasts, rooftop happy hours, restaurant recommendations, you name it! If the terrace suite is available book it. From the moment we arrived in Polignano a Mare, our trip was nothing short of amazing due to our stay at San Michele Suite. The hotel was absolutely stunning, cleanliness was impeccable, the daily breakfast was delicious, the welcome-drink on the rooftop was so appreciated, the stunning location, the effort the staff made to arrange any excursions and reservations we desired and the everyone that worked there was so kind. We are so grateful for our stay at San Michele Suite and to the staff at San Michele Suite that made it such a perfect stay. We look forward to returning soon!

After arriving from the states without our luggage we were warmly greeted by Valentina and told there was a welcome cocktail waiting for us on the rooftop. When we reached the rooftop that overlooks the beautiful cove and Serena was waiting for us with amazing cocktails and appetizers. Serena and staff prepared the most delicious breakfast (the best of our whole trip). We had a medical emergency that required a trip to the hospital, Medesto drove our person to the hospital and was able to translate and get him pushed through quickly. Serena, Valentina and Marika all helped us with the late checkout and transportation. Our group has already said we are going to return to San Michele!
