Hotel Mirador Papagayo by LIVVO

Had a really nice 10 day stay at The Mirador. Arrived late afternoon, check in was easy no waiting and was offered a welcome drink. We were taken to our room number 439 which seemed a long way from reception but it really wasn't. There were steps a couple of doors on down one floor to the pool area so we were close to everything. The room was roomy and bright with a fantastic sea view. the bed comfortable and plenty of pillows. One thing I can disagree with was that there was no drawer space so all our clothing had to go on shelves in the wardrobe! No big problem but I like a bedside drawer. The bathroom was ok and the shower worked well but as it was over the bath water did splash onto the floor so had to be extra careful when getting out. Towels were nice and replace more or less everyday. The buffet food in the restaurant was Ok breakfast was typical cooked bacon eggs etc, fresh a tinned fruit yoghurts cold meats and cheeses, breads of all sorts and sweet pastry's, something for everyone I think. Lunch and evening meals were also buffet and again a variety of salads and cooked the desserts were not that good but it is a case of whatever you like personally. It has to be considered that a hotel of this size catering for so many different tastes can not always get it 100% right. The evening entertainment was sometimes good sometimes not so (again personal preference) and adults only started at 9.45pm for about an hour, so it was children up to 9.30 then presentation from the daily entertainment games winners. This hotel is ideal for families and there is a children's pool area away from the main pool. All area are clean and well maintained. Pool towels are available from the spa then retuned to reception when leaving. Just one think about sunbeds, and umberella's There are plenty but the hotel has a no saving sunbed policy but they dont abide by this rule. Please, If your not going to enforce the rule don't make the rule in the first place its pointless. There is a complimentary hotel bus that drops you at a car park in Playa Dorado where you go down the walk way and can turn right to go into Playa Blanca or turn left to go to The Rubicon Marina, but its not far to walk to the Marina from the hotel a good walk 20 Minutes, or an easy stroll 25/30 mins I could be tempted to visit this hotel again as we have had a very nice stay here, but not when schools are out.

Great hotel and staff. Very helpful and polite. Views from a sea view room stunning. Book a sea view room, its worth it. Food okay usual kinda holiday fare. Breakfasts very good. Chose to eat out a couple of times in the evening as abit repetitive. Half board stay, think complementary water with evening meals good but felt this should be extended to fruit juices too. Walk to lovely Playa Dorada / Marina about 20 mins along well lit promenade cliff path. If travelling with young adventerous children keep them close as sheer drop to sea/rocks below of about 100 feet in some places beyond path.Other than that overall location felt very safe day or night, with good local shops and supermarkets. Overall 8 out of 10 experience. Will return

We were on an all inclusive holiday with Jet2 and our room was in the annex across the road from the main hotel which is connected via an underground tunnel. Overall the hotel is clean and welcoming. Our room was a family room with a living area / kitchenette and a separate bedroom. It was large, with lots of storage, a free safe and terrace which looked out onto the gardens. The food was OK and on par with other all-inclusive holidays we have been on. There was not a huge amount of choice, but there was usually something nice we could choose to eat. Some nights were themed which made a nice change and for the children, there was always chips, pizza, pasta, etc so they could always find something they liked. We enjoyed the entertainment they laid on most nights and the kids club / mini disco team were one of the best teams we have we have had at a hotel, our granddaughters thoroughly enjoyed it . The hotels location is a little out of things, there's a 15 minute walk along the promenade to the marina and a further 15 minutes to main Playa Blanca bar / restaurant area and Playa Dorada beach. However, there is a supermarket 5 minutes up the road and a lot more shops and some bars 10 minutes away in the other direction along the promenade. The hotel do put on a shuttle bus to/from the beach 3 times a days which was a great help. There were a few negatives. On our final day, when we returned for the day we found our room had not been cleaned so we had to contact reception for fresh towels, however they did arrive within 10 minutes. Also, the annex pool does have a pool bar in situ but this was never open, so we had to traipse across to the other pool area for our all inclusive drinks etc. Not the easiest thing when carrying multiple drinks / snacks. They did say the hotel was about 2/3rds full so I would have expected this to have been open. However, overall we had a lovely week, it was good value for money and would definitely return to this hotel again.

We stayed for a week in this hotel and it was amazing. The beds are comfy, the room is clean. The food at the hotel was good. I do not know why so many people have complained about the food. The gentleman who wears glasses who takes you to your tables at meal times is a nice man, The hotel is in a great location, near the seafront. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Fantastic hotel, we stayed in the annexe side and had a lovely spacious apartment. The pool this side was heated so even I ventured in for a swim. The hotel is extremely clean, and the staff are polite and helpful. The hotel is situated in a lovely quiet area it was so peaceful, but within easy walking distance to the near by marina. We got a taxi into the main town which only cost €4.70 and enjoyed a fantastic steak in one of the many restaurants. The food choice in the hotel was limited at evening meal, but I always found something available for me (I am a fussy eater). Will definitely be returning to this beautiful hotel.

Only popped in to check this hotel out as we couldn't book as no availability. We were treated to a tour of the hotel by the manager....what a lovely lady. Will definitely be looking to book there soon. The sea views are amazing, the walk along the papa***o seafront is spectacular.

Our first visit to this hotel , we arrived after 9pm and reception were very welcoming and we were told the dinning room was still open for us to have a meal (a salad) . We were travelling with family age range 6 to 68 . Our rooms were on the 4th floor and delighted right next door to each other . The rooms are lovely and a fantastic sea view . Beds comfortable, we had a problem with our AC which was sorted very quickly. All the staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful . We were AL and I found the food to be good , always found something to eat that I enjoyed (I'm a fussy eater) 6 year old a few times had a chip butty and pasta . Rest of family enjoyed the meals in dinning Hall. The pool snack bar was handy at lunch time if wanting something quick again food fine . Free water dispensers through out hotel . Plenty of sunbeds for everyone. The pools one heated one not , the kids pool and water splash area was good for younger children. The kids club was great fun and the animation team work very hard to keep the kids happy . Kids disco at night time good fun . Day time entertainment you had to read the board or you didn't know what games/sports were happening that day . Animation team worked hard so it was enjoyable for all ages . Hubby won a few times . Evening entertainment was varied, the magicians were fantastic and the Argentina dancers got son up on stage was priceless. One night a gentleman playing piano in top bar he was marvellous. Lots to see and do in the area . Overall a lovely hotel for all ages.

We found the hotel to be clean and welcoming, the room was clean and comfortable with plenty storage,free safe and terrace which looked out onto the pool and gardens. We had an issue with our shower which was sorted by maintenance. We also couldn't get any hot water out of our sink which unfortunately didn't get sorted. Food was average, not a huge amount of choice but really not hot enough. We enjoyed the entertainment most nights or there was a pianist one night up in the lobby bar. There's a lovely walk along to the harbour and beyond from the back gate of the hotel. We had a lovely week and would return to this hotel if the price was right.

2 adults and 2 15 year olds in two basic doubles. I booked this hotel considering the maximum we were prepared to pay for a week in the sun in the school holidays. I read the reviews after and was slightly concerned about the food situation but also we don’t do AI properly as love to explore and eat out- it just keeps the cost down with 2 15 year old boys! The rooms are great- the only critique as other guests have said is the choice of ‘ blue tile’ which makes it look dated but in fact it isn’t- modern shower/comfy beds and air con- couldn’t fault the rooms. Food- I don’t think the hotel is set up AI .. that said it’s what we expected and the cost allowed is to enjoy eating out at a few restaurants and at the hotel. Breakfast is better if you get there before 9am. The food is ok- couldn’t do it everyday! The 5 star AI hotels I looked at were £1500-2000 more for a week and would have felt we had to stay in the hotel all the time where as this gave a good balance and we spent no where near what that would have cost! Good recommendations- Alfie’s Bar and Kitchen Mumbai Masala Lani’s Restaurant Harp bar and Bikers Beach Club Honest review- lovely hotel, friendly staff, no sun bed issues, bit of a walk to places ( 15 minutes to marina and 30 minutes to the beach) so maybe not great of you don’t like/cant walk but we do and made it relaxing being away from it all but also accessible to more amenities.
