Mariposa Beach Resort swept us off our feet in every possible way! Donnie and his incredible team (Glaydas, Carlos x3 Oliver and others)showered us with warmth and care from the moment we stepped foot on the property, welcoming us with refreshing towels and heavenly island drinks.They went above and beyond to ensure every moment was magical, including organizing a heartwarming and romantic dinner for our last night—a gesture that left us speechless. 💕 Their hospitality wasn't just top-notch; it was downright unbeliezable! Did I mention ...From breakfast, lunch to dinner...The food was Absolutely Amazing!!!! We didn't just find a vacation spot; we found a second family. Can't wait for our next reunion with Donnie and the team at Mariposa Beach Resort!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this resort!!! There are only 11 rooms - we stayed in a treehouse and it was perfect. The bed was super comfy and the a/c worked well. The service was outstanding on all fronts - everyone seemed genuinely happy to have us there and it felt like we had the whole resort to ourselves which was really cool. Anything we wanted they made it happen! All of the food we had there was delicious as well!

My husband and I stayed a week in one of the “Tree Houses” at Mariposa Resort. The staff was absolutely wonderful. All went out of their way to help us and to answer any questions that we had. As a bonus, we got to know them personally. We discovered many things about their beautiful country, their homes, their families and their work. We shared many stories together which made our stay much more meaningful. The tree house was beautifully crafted and very clean. The beds were so comfortable, and there was plenty of space for the two of us. We loved having a sitting area and hammock on the porch. The ‘jungle’ setting for the tree houses is beautifully landscaped and very private. There is a short walk to the restaurant and beach. There are more tree houses planned for the near future, but I think the area will maintain its private feel. We were happy to be away from the busy-ness of Placencia Village. We traveled easily back and forth to town in our rented golf cart and on the bicycles offered by Mariposa. We enjoyed the use of the kayaks, as well. We enjoyed the ease of having a restaurant on site, and could choose to sit by the ocean, or in a comfortable open air space protected from the sun and wind/rain. The menu was a mix of Belizean and American fare. We had our favorite breakfasts of granola, yoghurt, eggs and Belizean breads. The grilled fresh fish dinners were also very tasty. If I were to suggest anything at all, it would be to have hooks on the interior walls of the units for jackets, hats etc. That would have made a lovely stay even lovelier!

The Mariposa is a lovely spot, but what really stands out is the staff - friendly, efficient and kind. We had a treehouse, which was spacious and spotless. The location, exactly 2 mins and 15 seconds from the tiny airport, and just a quick golf cart ride into Placencia, is great. We'd been in the jungle, and on some of the southern cayes, and we wound up our Belize trip here. It was a lovely finale.

My wife and I spent a week at the Mariposa with another couple. We stayed in room #9, our friends had a treehouse unit. This place is amazing! First off, the staff is incredible. Everyone was happy and helpful, they felt like friends by the end of the first day. The food and service were second to none.The property was immaculate. Because it’s a smaller resort, the beach felt like we had it all to ourselves. A perfect blend of open beach and palm trees for shade. We rented golf carts for the week and I would definitely recommend doing that. A short drive into Placencia Village to visit some local bars/restaurants and shops. Also the excursions that the staff recommended were top notch. We spent one day snorkeling and spear fishing. Also booked a fishing charter. If you like snorkeling and fishing, I would recommend doing both.

What a spectacular experience my husband and I had for our entire stay. We arrived from New York on Christmas day, 2023 and had a delicious dinner on the beach. We opted for a room in the main building with a gorgeous view of the ocean. Huge bathroom with tons of closet space and a full length mirror. The bed was really comfortable and tons of dressers to unpack all your gear. I believe the highlight for us was the service - really kind, FUN, efficient and accommodating staff. They made us laugh, gave us tons of suggestions and fulfilled our every need possible. This was our second time to Belize, but first time to Placencia. We will DEFINITELY be returning soon to Mariposa for sure!

Incredible resort to get away and relax or bring a group of friends and family. The onsite restaurant was impressive. I am always looking to try new things and they had two items on the menu that I have never tried before. All of the food was delicious and the service was amazing. Genuinely nice people work here and seem to love their job. I stayed in one of the Treehouses and also in one of the suites. I liked the treehouse better. They treehouses are newer and have more natural light coming in. I definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a relaxing atmosphere and fantastic food.

We enjoyed our beautiful, spacious, well-appointed room on the ground floor looking out over the ocean. Our own table on the patio just outside allowed us to enjoy the warm air and view while reading and/or dining. The room was consistently kept very clean, as was the entirety of the resort. The pool was lovely, as was the ocean and I especially enjoyed early morning kayaking on the placid water. Food was excellent, also, and featured local fare. We went to this resort specifically for solitude, which we found, but that was our choice. If you want to venture out for all sorts of day trips of any difficulty or interest, or head into the village for dining or shopping, you certainly can. The resort experience is yours to enjoy however you wish. We also have to say that the staff was incredibly friendly, accommodating, and professional! We would highly recommend this gem!

A beautiful remodeled boutique resort right on the Caribbean Sea in Placencia. Minutes from the small airport for easy pick up and departure. Lovely accommodations. We stayed in one of the “tree house” rooms, away from common walls. It was well appointed and comfortable and wi-fi access was great. We borrowed their very nice bikes and rode into town a few times for breakfast. The best thing about this place was Donny, Carlos, Gladys, Jose, George, Moises, masseuse Alba and all the rest of the staff. This is one of the most attentive, kind and friendly staffs we’ve ever come across. It felt like we’d been welcomed into a Belizean family! There is much more I could say but better to find out for yourself. We’ve traveled all over the world and have stayed in all levels of hotels and hovels and elegance and simplicity and the Mariposa rates as one of our favorites. Oh, and did I mention their restaurant The Breezeway? Top class meals on the beach. Try the Belizean breakfast with fry jacks for $10US.
