We stayed in the Villa Tragona when visiting Villa Romana, the World Heritage site. Having been in the same family for hundreds of years, this hotel is located in the beautiful Italian countryside. We booked for a suite which, unknown to us when we booked, was located in the old house. You climb ancient curved stairs, through a sitting room, through a library to our room on the second floor. We were unclear what the suite was as we used neither of the outer rooms because only our room had the air conditioning on. The bed was fine though in a very tight alcove and the bathroom redone - but my husband woke up to ants all over his pills in the am. Our friends stayed in a brand new room - that would have been our preference when we discovered the choice. The ground are lovely to walk. The 6 course dinner, including wine and bottled water was one of the best meals we had on the trip. Definitely stay here if you are going to Villa Romana, enjoy walking through the old house, but stay in a room in the new addition
