Absolutely amazing place! We stayed 5 nights and wish we could have stayed more before moving onto our next destination - it was amazing. Everything from the pool service, pool bar, drinks, the food and above all, the amazing service from each and every staff member. Every time we returned back to the resort, it felt like we were coming into our own home because of the big smiles, hellos and waves from each of the staff - absolutely amazing. We can’t forget to mention the wonderful pool bartenders who made our days and evenings with their warm smiles, laughs and caring ways - Lao and his evening bar female co-worker (whose name just escaped us). They’re amazing and MADE our trip ❤️ The location and amenities are amazing and very clean. The bed was VERY comfortable and the luxury pool villa was simple beautiful and so clean. We were never in need of anything! The food at the restaurant was absolutely delicious and fresh - a MUST place to eat during your stay! Big thank you to Phu Quoc’s Mercury villa family for making our trip in Phu Quoc! 100 percent recommend!

We did not stay at the hotel. We discovered the restaurant and bar as we walked along the beach. The front of the bar/restaurant sits directly in front of and two metres above the beach. Metres from the water and the view of the entire bay is unobstructed and stunning. We fell in love with the Coconut Frappe's and Cappuccino's, making the short trek up the beach every day to sit on their balcony. I don't understand how they are the only hotel to offer this spectacular start to a day. May I say to Martin and his beautiful, hospitable staff, thank you for making our morning visits so enjoyable...

We arrived at the Sheraton mid-July for a six-night stay. The staff promptly took our luggage and had us check in. They asked for our credit card but the English was very weak so we barely understood and eventually worked out with a lot of gesturing with three staff members that it was for damage deposit. This was confusing because we had already been in Vietnam for two weeks and no other high-end hotels, including the ones higher end than Sheraton had asked for damage deposit before. After check-in they asked which ones were our luggages. They took our luggages when we got out of the taxi. We had to look around ourselves and found our luggages in a corner. This is the first hotel in Vietnam that didn't have a tagging system for luggages. The following is a list of things that would normally be expected of an international chain resort hotel but we didn't get them: - No explanation about the resort. - No printed map of the sprawling complex. - No hotel policy and information book in the room like most hotels. - No wifi was mentioned and then when we looked in the room there was a card saying we had to be members of Marriott Bonvoy to get wifi but when we tried to join using our own data on the phone it proved way too involved and we weren't able to get wifi. (This was very disappointing considering the hotel was isolated and it was 30 minutes by taxi to town). - No mention of breakfast hours. - No explanation about restaurants or where they were. - No explanation about water in a place where tap water isn't safe to drink. - No explanation about what's around or how to get to town. We had to find the map and restaurant information ourselves on their website. The online map was inaccurate and showed breakfast at a different location. The map was low resolution and was not user friendly. We shouldn't have had to spend two hours on our own finding out how an expensive resort worked after checking The hotel was touted as new but it certainly wasn't. The shower hose was rusted and leaking, the door jamb had plaster chipping off it, and the hallways smelled strongly of mold and obviously the management knew because they had ozone generators and fans running in the hallways. The dinner at the hotel was terrible. It was the only restaurant around for kilometres so we had to go there and sure enough, the prices for their captive customers were exorbitant for Vietnam. The buffet was 950,000VND and most a la carte entrées cost 280,000VND and upwards, so we were basically paying higher-end Canadian prices for dinner. The food was was not entirely offensive but nothing like what we thought we ordered and certainly not what we were used to at those prices. The bulgogi was some repurposed braised meat from the buffet, definitely not grilled and definitely lacking the spices associated with real Korean bulgogi. The kimchi was the cheapest supermarket variety that tasted like vinegar. The nasi lemak kampung just had a lot of fish paste and dried shrimp

Abbiamo trascorso gli ultimi 3 giorni del nostro viaggio in Vietnam in questa meravigliosa struttura che porteremo sempre nel cuore. L’ospitalità e la cortesia Vietnamita non hanno eguali. Un ringraziamento speciale lo riserviamo al proprietario che con amore e passione dedica tutto se stesso per far sentire a casa i propri ospiti. Ci ha coccolato, consigliato e preparato un ottimo pho uno dei migliori mai provato in un mese in Vietnam. Il nostro bungalow beach front aveva una vista da sogno,dotato di ogni confort e pulizia sempre impeccabile. La piscina sempre pulita con comodi lettini dove potersi rilassare. We were booked for Palmy by our travel agent. On arrival there was no manager and one receptionist who was surly and unpleasant and ordered my husband to sign the papers. She had to lug our suitcases to the room without any assistance. The grounds are a construction site for a new building being built up against another part of the hotel so windows face each other by feet. We had paid extra for an upgraded sea view suite. When we got to our floor, we walked through a sad dark and sweltering hallway, in what appeared to be an entirely empty hotel. Our room had not been cooled before our arrival and was more than 30 c. The “suite” consisted of a sad avacado- colored room with a small couch and nothing more- not even a lamp - totally useless space. To maximize light in the bedroom, the bathroom has been separated into 2 corners of the room- fully glassed in inside and out! The blinds must stay closed for privacy and if you don’t want to watch your partner’s activities in the toilet, you have to draw a curtain around half the room - leaving you still exposed to the detailed sounds of your partner’s bathroom activities, but also not providing any ventilation to the toilet. There is a nasty looking dark corner room that says ‘massage’ on the ground floorthat I would not bother to look into and a minimal menu of available foods, leaving you having to walk the busy main road to alternate eateries. This place was so bad that we left within an hour, forfeiting a considerable amount of money, including upgrade, so that we didnt entirely deflate and spoil our last 3 days in Vietnam. All the reviews are horrible like mine. This place should go out of business. One more really negative point- after taking a photo of our passports, they kept my husband’s without asking or advising us. My husband panicked when he couldn’t find his passport and I ran downstairs to check. No one at the reception area, but a bellboy who didn’t speak English, but who followed my pantomime and pulled from the front desk table top, a clear folder with my husband’s passport- not even in a locked drawer so cavelier about this holding of his single most important item. Even though they had his credit card on file, that is their custom. Utterly unacceptable. Apologies and refund should be provided, but has not been forthcoming to date. Lost about $300. USD
