Don’t typically stay with the Hyatt Brand, but the Hyatts in Asia have been amazing! The room here was great. It’s wonderfully located - near the river, the Palace etc. That’s not the reason for this review. This review is for the STAFF. We stayed here 12 nights and each day we were met with a collection of sweet smiles. Wish we learned all their names but are glad to have connected with a few: Daily breakfast buffet were with the lovely Seavyoung and shy Srey reap - thank you for taking such wonderful care of us each morning; Sotheary was our lovely lunch companion; Sopha, a sweet little thing from the Attic; Yem from the Regency Club, thank you for our bottomless Prosecco; Dinner Staff from 55, lovely Leakana and her team; Last, but certainly not least, Fariza, sweet darling, thank you for singing us romantic songs; Eric,one of the managers, love your contagious energy. Five Stars accommodations and amenities are pretty much the same, what separates them is the team of people who enhances your stay. For the entitled reviewers / visitors who expect perfect English…. How’s your Cambodian!?!

The Sokha hotel is an amazing place. An enormous hotel but with nothing going on. We arrived at 8pm and were upgraded to a suite. A huge room in a huge hotel but nobody else in the hotel? The venue was very clean, lots of staff all very friendly. The hotel is the wrong side of the river. On the other side it was buzzing with locals and tourists unlike the hotel sokha side which has only locals. Even the tuk-tuk drivers don’t want to go there. Breakfast the following morning was good. We paid less than £100 for this hotel, great value for a 5* hotel but Unfortunately lacking customers and therefor any sort of atmosphere !

The hotel is definitely a 5 star experience with everyone from security to reception offering excellent, friendly and efficient service! The room is very big and spacious although there is not much light and not much of a view but considering the location, that’s not bad as you really look into another hotel. Amenities are excellent, though some TV stations don’t have great signal but it’s not a big problem. The fountain shower is great but can have some minor water pressure issues. Also, nothing too big. The water remains constant and hot as you like it. The Sky Bar, room service and food quality and service is excellent!! Really 5 star quality and actually not as expensive as would be expected from hotel dining. The best part is the infinity pool, big, deep and always clean! Although my only complaint is that it closes at 8pm. It’s quite lovely at night, and the water temperature is excellent so would be great if hotel considered opening it later for hotel guests. The only thing about the area is that while it’s very close to the river and tourist sites, it’s also in what may be considered the “******************” so expect many bars and cat calls. Certainly if you do not want to experience that or the plethora of badly mannered foreign men in the area then might be worth trying g their new hotel further away from that. Of course, you will have to be vigilant and careful when walking around with money or phone and the very friendly security guard will remind you regularly to look after phone:) Actually, while the area itself might be in a somewhat seedy area, there are many restaurants, shops, pharmacies, etc.. The hotel reception themselves and everyone at the hotel will remind you to be safe and help you to stay safe. Visitors to the hotel, are required to present passports if staying for additional security. Finally, the cleaning of the room is excellent. Although the hotel practices a “green policy”, they change towels everyday and cleaners really clean well and tidy up if needed. The SPA while costlier than outside establishments is clean, tranquil and high quality. Hotel guests receive a further 20% discount. Overall, a lovely experience! I will certainly visit again at their sister hotel and possibly even this one. Thank you for your kindness during my stay.

Cet hôtel commence à vieillir et le style du mobilier peut sembler un peu dépassé. Mais les chambres sont spacieuses et extrêmement calmes pour celles qui donnent sur la piscine (il faut absolument demander cette orientation). Quand je suis arrivé début juin, l'hôtel était vide (taux d'occupation inférieur à 5%) et le tarif des chambres très attractifs. J'ai donc passé un excellent séjour au calme, ce qui est important dans une ville où la chaleur et le bruit fatiguent vite. Mais il est possible que dans quelques mois lorsque les groupes reviendront las situation soit moins favorable.
