Smiley Bungalow

Absolutely excellent stay and amazing value for money. It was way nicer than I thought it was going to be for the price. Very clean rooms, recently decorated bathrooms it seems, great AC and a wonderful setting. Yes they were building more bungalows opposite which took away from the scenery slightly but they’ll be finished soon. We also booked the lake tour with them and it was a fantastic experience from beginning to end. I can’t recommend these guys enough. We are a 46 year old couple and thought it might be a bit of a younger crowd but it was a nice mixed bunch of people. Thank you Smiley for a great few days

The rates are surprisingly good for the quality and services offered – a real deal. I chose their 3-day, 2-night option. Day one starts at the Smiley Bungalow in Khao Sok, a picturesque place nestled close to quaint cafes and lush jungle. The next day, a comfortable minivan ride whisks you to the lake, with a quick stop at a local store for snacks or essentials. Then you're off on a long-tail boat to the lake house, which is nothing short of spectacular. Tip: Book a house on the right side early if you can – they're quaint and full of charm. The left side ones are decent, but lack the same flair. Once settled, enjoy a leisurely lunch and some downtime. The evening boat safari is a highlight, and the morning safari at 6.30 is a must.

Lovely basic but clean accommodation as a base in Khao Sok. Rooms are clean and nice with the basic things you need except a fridge! Fantastic to wake up in the morning to the most beautiful scenery and misty mountains. Breakfast is basic but filling and great to start the day with before heading off to explore or your lake trip. We left our suitcases here while we went to the smiley lake houses overnight. They were in a secure room and safely stored. Excellent place to have stayed and packaged to our lake stay. They were brilliant at organising a faultless package. We loved it

If you want to stay at a lake house nothing beats this. The price is very reasonable and the facilities they provide make it a steal. I booked their 3 day 2 night plan. First day you stay the smiley bunglow in Khao sok. You can roam around Khao sok, the place is close to cafes and jungle and is very picturesque. Next day they take you to the lake on a minivan, on the way it stops at a local shop if you want to buy anything. After reaching the lake you take their long tail boat to the lake house. The lake house is amazing. Try to book early so you can get the houses on the right side. Right side houses are old and look nice. Left side houses are fine too but look a bit off! After reaching lake house you can have lunch and chill. In evening they take you on boat safari. Next day morning at 6.30 again boat safari, don't miss the morning safari, the place looks magical early in the morning like something out of Harry Potter movies! Then at 9 am you go on jungle Trek and cave tour. After returning you have lunch and head back to the lake. Depending on where you are heading next they have mini vans that can drop you at the bus stop or at Khao sok. The staff there are extremely helpful and super awesome and I can't thank them enough for the trip. Whatever you need tell the staff there and they'll try to help you. For booking you have to get it done through their website and they have options to pay 30% first and rest at the location during check in. This place needs recognition. It's such an awesome place, do visit if you're visiting Thailand.

Highly recommend this place! Everyone is so sweet and helpful. The smiley bungalows are really clean and you have a beautifull view. Before we went to the lake houses, they told us we could leave most of our stuff here, it was perfect. They even arrange our trip to koh phangan.

Extremely clean and comfortable accommodation, very close to Khao Sok national park. Our only regret was we didn’t spend more time with Smiley and do the lakeside bungalow tour, due to other commitments. I have travelled Thailand extensively and Khao Sok is not to be missed, brilliant trekking, plenty of wildlife to see, and the town is full of quirky eateries which offer excellent Thai food and don’t over price. Smiley is perfectly located. Phaiwan, Bicky and all the team were so friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We enjoyed an amazing breakfast, showers after we’d checked out and completed our walk, and brilliant arranging onward travel. Smileys was absolutely incredible!! They made our group feel at home from the very beginning, and Phaiwan was very accommodating whenever we needed anything. We were their first guests after covid, and we loved every minute! We did several boat rides, jungle trekking, and ate some of the best food I’ve had in Thailand. We could have spent our entire vacation on the floating bungalows and never gotten bored. Thank you so much phaiwan and kit!!!
