This is very nice resort! Worth it for money and nice beach!

Mooie hotel met mooie kamers. Eten kan beter en smaakvoller. Zwembad is te ondiep en erg warm. Zandzakken aan het strand was geen mooi gezicht.

Immer wieder gern, für uns der perfekte Ort die Seele baumeln zu lassen. Nichts für Partygäste.

We had a memorable stay in Amaya beach. Excellent location to have a beach resort. All the services were arranged customer friendly manner. We had a warm welcome on arrival. Room was clean and tidy facing the Indian Ocean. Well maintained garden. All meals were delicious. I hope you will add more variety to the main course and the dessert table in future. Our kids enjoyed lot. All the staff were friendly and helpful especially restaurant crew. I would like to especially thanks to Priyatharshini who helped us from the beginning.

The hotel was part of a series that we used during the tour of the island. A magnificent hotel. We rested here for two nights after our long journey from Colombo via Ella, Kandy and Dambulla. And of course we enjoyed the beach and took a dip in the Indian Ocean (Bay of Bengal). And of course we enjoyed the beach and took a dip in the Indian Ocean (Bay of Bengal). The hotel beach is good with palm shade. Peaceful and quiet place to relax. Unfortunately, the entrance to the water is covered with corals and stones. Shoes are required to enter the water. We found out that the beach to the left of the hotel is free of stones and corals, but we did not use it. There was no way. 😒A crowd of natives had occupied the water and remained so all day. There were so many people that there was nowhere to throw a coin. Everyone with their clothes on and it looked like a bathroom or a laundry room. I've never seen anything like it. But that can't change my opinion of the hotel, it's magnificent. We were on the 2nd floor and thus had a great view of the bay. The other two in our group were on the ground floor and could walk directly to the beach. The food was good.

The culinary delights offered at the on-site restaurants tantalized the taste buds, and the array of activities ensured there was never a dull moment. The staff's attention to detail and genuine care for guests truly made this a standout experience. I cannot recommend Amaya Beach Hotel enough – it's a true paradise retreat deserving of every one of its five stars!

Amaya is best for its scenic view of the bay. The rooms are spacious and relaxing. Although the beach right in front of the hotel has a coral reef, there are parts that are coral-free, giving access to deeper water. However, just a stone’s throw away is the most beautiful basin of water. Given that it was the Avurudhu holidays, the bay got crowded, but no one was in your face. The staff were friendly and helpful. We will always come again.

Stayed as a family of 2 adults and two teenage sons in family room 1001. The complex is clean, fresh, modern. The family room is a great size. The option to hire jet ski and paddle boards is great and the staff accompanying are polite and attentive. The a la carte food is meh. £7.50 plus for a frozen style pizza you pick up in a multi pack at Lidl for £1 sets the standard. That'd despite their being an actual pizza oven that's decorative only. Cocktails again meh. Warm when delivered. Bar staff don't take orders from the seating area. You have to go up to the bar to order. Staff are simply Lethargic, will only act reactively. Nothing pro active. Once you have their attention they will do their job but should you constantly have to chase to be served when your on holiday and its their job. Again sunbeds have option for cushions. They are packed away and not put out by staff. You physically have to get yourself or chase the staff. Once caught again they will then get to work. Breakfast buffet is limited but ok. Stayed at multiple hotels in Sri Lanka now its fine in comparison. Prices don't include tax or service. That's a dated practise and top hotels on the island have combined in published menu price to be more transparent. Overall this hotel could be great but the service levels and a la carte options we experienced really let it down.
