Our second stay here at Desert Hills and just as enjoyable as the first. Very walkable to everything downtown. Love the mid century architecture. Hosts are very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend.

Beautiful spot up against the mountains, surrounded by Palm trees. Sounds of the birds were delightful. So many Hummingbirds early in the morning. Extremely clean, comfortable efficiency room. Easy access to the sites. Gondola ride and Architectural tour were highlights.

Great charming place, We are already planning a return visit. It felt like we stepped back in time to the 60's in a good way. Would highly recommend. Wish the air temperature would have been warmer, the pool looked so inviting.

Nice quiet place with good swimming pool . However the hot tub was not operational and we had not been informed about this beforehand, which was extremely disappointing . The bathooms are very dated, which was also disappointing . It would be better if there was front desk to assist customers, rather tham doing it all by email.

A Desert Hills guest from 10 years ago. Booked here multiple times. The sweet karma of a caring owner is gone. So sad.

Fantastic classic old Palm Springs style, large rooms with kitchenettes, beautiful views, great communication with hotel, will definitely stay again.

Great stay at this peaceful property located within a ten minute walk of the heart of Palm Springs. The vintage rooms may not be for all, but #2 was clean, spacious and true to the mid-century modern aesthetics so common to the area. Beautiful setting and would return.

The property is a 1956 relic, which has pros and cons. Pros: Charming. Stylish details from a bygone era. Great location. Great customer service via text message. La Croix in the fridge. Cons: While clean, it smells a bit dank from age. The bathroom has no fan. The sink is about 36 inches high. The fold-out ironing board may be the original. The walls are decorated with vaguely ****** vintage magazine cutouts depicting native Hawaiians. The bed is uncomfortable. The AC blows on the bed. Just be aware of what you're getting. This is not modern construction styled to look like 50's. It's 1956 construction, with a lot of the original 1956 stuff.

We have stayed at this classic, small hotel in the tennis club neighborhood for over 10 years, at least once a year. We love its mid-century feel and the quiet location so convenient to downtown (easy 5 block walk). It has been sold recently (2 yrs ago?) and I feel that it needs some TLC. The jacuzzi isn't working, there are no free bikes anymore, the bathrooms especially need remodeling and the breakfast goods in the communal kitchen are no longer, although there were some nice goodies and fizzy water in our room to enjoy along with a Keurig coffee maker and good Peets coffee. We would still stay here but I hope that the new owners invest some more time in the upkeep.
