The hotel was clean and staff extremely friendly. The main hotel bedrooms were very noisy which meant you could hear talking in bedrooms 2 doors down opposite to you. I checked one night twice our patio door was not open as I could hear our neighbours on the balcony next to us extremely clearly which kept me a walk to the early hours. The food was extremely average with a lot of the main dishes repeated each lunch and evening meal. Salad bar was limited with a choice of 5 dishes and that included grated carrot and a bowl of lettuce. Drinks were good however the coffee machine did not produce good coffee. The entertainment was excellent at night. The roof top bar which is stunning is not open till 7pm and is not included in your all inclusive stay which was disappointing. The location is perfect with stunning views along with many cafes and bars dotted along the coastal road in 5 mins walking distance. It takes 30 minutes by taxi or private hire - we took private hire to old town Corfu ( highly recommend All Corfu private hire who were fantastic and even took us to a great location on our way back to hotel for a photo view opportunity)

I had an outstanding experience thanks to the excellent service provided by Mario, one of the resort managers. He is incredibly friendly and positive, always engaging with a smile on his face, which made me feel welcome from the very beginning. Kostas, the driver, also deserves special mention. Despite his busy schedule and occasional tiredness, he remains upbeat and always manages to make me and my girlfriend laugh, filling us with positivity. The bar staff were equally impressive—easy to talk to, friendly, and efficient. Their excellent service really enhanced our overall experience.

We enjoyed our April vacation thanks to the receptionist Katerina where she guided us step by step to parts of Corfu and helped us rent a quad to go to Paleokastritsa and Angelokastro! The hotel food is very good but we would prefer more Greek recipes. The hotel also plays live music, Ioanna deserves it! Many thanks in particular to the wonderful receptionist Katerina. We will see you again for sure!

I have read good and negative reviews about the Golden Mare. After our visit in early Sept 2023 I can understand why. The Golden Mare is a good hotel set on a hillside with the most fantastic panoramic views you could wish for. We stayed in the main body of the hotel in a large sea view room. Lots of storage space. Very comfortable bed, good sized loo with large shower. Spotlessly clean fresh towels every day. Large balcony unfortunately not a covered balcony, it absolutely poured down first 2 days so could not sit out and read have a coffee or drink. Hotel staff were excellent, friendly helpful, especially staff on reception. People had complained about the pool why I don't know, plenty of sunbeds and a really good pool. Staff out every morning cleaning pool and pool area. Maybe better quality and more umberellas would be good. Entertainment on offer was average. The negatives with the GM relate to the "all inclusive" offer and the climb from the drop off point to the hotel. The "climb" is approx 60 yards up a very severe incline. We struggled to pull our cases but were helped by a member of staff. Others much younger and fitter also struggled with their luggage. So if you do have mobility issues or get breathless easily I would think twice about booking the Golden Mare. As the GM was a four star hotel we did expect decent quality food and drink sad to say this was not the case. The alcohol on offer was "local" but not the best quality. Wine was a poor nameless white or rose not sure what the beer was. Asked for 2 gin and tonics one night got gin and lemonade no ice or lemon both were served in small throwaway plastic glasses. Yuk! In our 2 weeks there we only had about four drinks in the all inclusive bar. However there was a saving grace a magnificent panoramic bar on the third floor. Service was great, the server was most obliging came and took your order and served it and offered to take photos. You did have to pay for the international brands on offer but it was worth it given the service and magnificent nighttime views. Food in the hotel was indifferent, some was decent, other offerings were less so. Overall I would say the food offering was way below what we expected, the restaurant had a "Butlins" feel about it. We ate out a few times esp lunch evening meals in local restaurants tavernas. Found a great little bar near the drop off point for the hotel called Skala spent a lot of time there in the evenings. Staff there brilliant, booze high quality brands and excellent food. Also a found great coffee shop called Coffee Lovers just as you enter the Barbati stretch.Do visit if you stay in the Barbati area. Would we return to the Golden Mare? Unlikely If we went back to Corfu we would more likely stay at a hotel on the west coast.

Was here from 3rd May until the 10th May , in room 704 ( unbelievable view ) which we booked a double room with sea view but ended up with a family room ( bunk beds in room). Steep hill to climb with your suitcases to get to the reception area, but quick and easy check in . Just remember you have to pay the climate charge of €7 per night per room. The staff here are all amazing, always greeted with a smile- but only saw the in house entertainment guy once all week , so only 1 session of aqua gym and no other day time entertainment all week!!!! So very poor. The evening entertainment was hit or miss, all personal taste what you enjoy though. Food was on the whole very good , head chef is always in the restaurant taking on board feedback from everyone. Views from the restaurant are amazing, looking at to Albania 🇦🇱 or Corfu Town ( watching the cruise liners coming and going) . Not much around the hotel to do , so good place to get complete R&R - but the walk to the beach is worth it, you can hire sunbeds for €7.50 for a day at the Bahia Mare bar .

Excellent hotel . Its a small all inclusive hotel so if you want to chill relax and unwind it is a very chilled a**osphere. it has one restaurant the food was delicious, salad was amazing and cakes incredible there is grilled food and some varieties . If you are plain / fuzzy eater you may need to eat out more but i absolutely loved the food . Drinks where ok beer/ wine there are cocktails too . The hotel is clean staff are friendly and there is some entertainment. The area barbati is beautiful and great location buses straight to corfu town .

We had an amazing time here. The staff we want to thank for such a lovely time is Daniel and Konstantinos, who were very chatty and lively and made us feel so comfortable. We had a beautiful room with an amazing view. The food was great. Hotel was very athletically pleasing. We had a late flight and they allowed us late check out for no extra price and didn’t make it a hassle at all. Perfect for a relaxing getaway and very peaceful. We will definitely be back. We were a party of 5 friends and we had a fabulous time. The hotel rooms were spacious, bright and clean. The staff on reception and the bar were so friendly and helpful. The food was really good everyday. There was plenty of sun loungers available. We would all recommend this hotel and we will definitely be back.

Great getaway! Loved the pool area & the entertainment at the hotel, rooms were nice and clean and staff was amazing! Big shout out to Mario who helped organised a special cake and wine for my birthday and was just so warm and welcoming to my family and I. Great vibe overall, would definitely visit again!
