The location was perfect, the facilities were spot on ( room cleaned every morning and fridge topped up) The breakfast had everything to offer ( you won’t go hungry) The staff to be fair were brilliant , Antonio is a gentleman met him each day while there and also Fabrizio. Two gents

Great place for a relaxing vacation. On walking distance from Otranto. The hotel is offering a great looking pool with enough beds and umbrellas poolside. Rooms are very clean with enough space. Very helpful staff. If there is a small downside to be mentioned, it is in the way the hotel has been build with different levels and stairs (elevators available).

All the staff have been excellent “friendly and professional at the same time”. We enjoyed the SPA. I liked the warm pool with a wonderful view of the park. After that, we had a very satisfying dinner. The pistachio’s cheesecake was delicious.

Really good hotel within relatively easy drive from Brindisi airport. Room was really nice with a good bathroom and a balcony with a pool view - all very clean and the daily cleaning team were very friendly and efficient. All other staff were effective if not overly effusive and bar prices are fair - 4 euros for a Peroni, and about 6 for a glass of wine. The pool is a really good size and has about 40 beds around it so we always got one if we stayed on site. Breakfast is adequate and of a continental style - perfectly fine but no great wow factor I know nobody books a hotel because of its gardeners,but they should get a special mention- the grounds are immaculate and full of interesting and beautiful plants. The walk to the old town takes about 15 minutes and there are well over 30 restaurants to choose from - we tried about 10 of them for either lunch or dinner and did not have anything other than lovely food and some cracking white or rose wines. There’s a nice beach in town but expect to pay at least 30 euros for two beds and a shade for the day. It’s a very shallow for at least 25 metres from the beach so should be pretty child friendly.

Getting to your room, the swimming pool, the reception or the SPA is a real obstacle course. The rooms are old, dirty, poorly equipped. I feared for my safety several times. The staff speaks very poor English, it's a hotel recommended for Italians and the 4* classification is not justified. Elsewhere in Europe the hotel would hardly have 3*. The breakfast is not acceptable for a hotel of this category. In short, a real disappoin**ent. I do not understand the positive comments on which I relied to book a room.

We have just returned from a ten night stay at the hotel. Overall it was better than I was expecting due to some reviews. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and breakfast was basic with more choice of cakes and pastries than cheese and meats. The breakfast staff were not really pleasant at all. Not even a good morning welcome or smile from anyone except the girl who was usually on pastries. All the other staff were lovely and reception helped us when we had problems with trips booked with TUI. They didn’t inform us that they were not in English until we were at the resort! The pool was lovely and beach towels were provided. There was not much variety of food at the pool bar but what they had was nice. I did not like the design of the balconies at all. They are basically just an extension of the room with a large opening instead of a window. It was really like a cell and we didn’t use it at all. We paid extra for a superior room and the balcony and it wasn’t worth it. Not the hotel’s fault - just a design fault I believe. Otranto is beautiful and the hotel is only about 10-15 minutes walk or 10€ taxi ride. The hotel has lost a point for me due to breakfast and the staff and also the horrible balcony. The room and hotel were really very clean.

We had a wonderful time in the Basiliani Hotel in Otranto. The ambiance was very calm, relaxing and very Mediterranean. The staff was always available and friendly even after our visit we stayed in touch. Accommodation was very comfortable and very clean. I would not say it is meant for families per se but we always received special trea**ent for our child which was very kind. In general the management was very very forthcoming and helpful. They granted us a huge favor because we were originally planing on visiting earlier but due to perdonal reasons and covid of course they accepted our payment even 2 years after it the trip was planned even if they did not have to. I would feel very comfortable to plan a trip to the CDS Hotels anytime again. 5/5
