Inconveniente que no hay ascensor, lo demás muy bien

Exactly how I have imagined a perfect French hotel. This place oozes character and feels like the old curiosity shop. It’s right in the centre of town and close to all the shops, restaurants and sights. My single room (I was driving by myself across France) and bathroom were small but beautifully decorated and comfy/cozy. The staff are super friendly and nice. Breakfast was good and they even made me a perfectly cooked boiled egg. Even the guests seemed nice and quiet. I didn’t stay here on my arrival in France, only because I was worried about the parking. It was relatively easy to find meter parking at the other end of the street - which cost about €4 for several hours and you can pay by card. They also recommend a more expensive car park for around €16 per day.

I stayed at the Hotel l'Abeille in Orleans in November, 2022 for three nights. I explored Orleans in addition to taking a train to Blois and touring Chambord and Cheverney. The hotel is conveniently located a few blocks from the train station and the main town square. The room was quiet, comfortable and had an interesting view - a photo of which, I have included. The staff was very helpful in finding places to eat and things to see. The breakfast was very good. One caution: there is no elevator and the stairs are steep and narrow - so if you have mobility issues, this may not be for you, unless you request a lower room.

Lovely, small hotel in great location in Orlean. We had a room on the first floor (glad we did, the staircase is a bit daunting as other reviewers have mentioned). The room was spacious with a huge closet (so suitcases were not taking up floor space), comfortable bed with nice linens, a huge bathroom. Room was very clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was a perfect way to start the day and included made to order eggs (if you choose). I recommend this hotel which is adjacent to a pedestrian shopping street and close by to restaurants, the central train station and other city sights.

It was great, just make sure people know there is no lift and the stairs are narrow. My husband has a hard time walking and these stairs were hard for him. You had a nice young gal take our bags up the stairs and how she did that, I have no idea. The room was lovely and comfortable. I would suggest some kind of not slip mat for the shower/tub though.

My husband booked this hotel as a treat for my birthday. Unfortunately, our ‘superior’ room was on the third floor-definitely not a treat when the stairs are extremely vertiginous, there is no lift, and the birthday you are hoping to celebrate in one piece is your 70th! The room was pleasant, with a pretty decor, beautiful fabric lined walls, and interesting vintage furniture, yet rather cramped. It wasn’t possible to fully open the bathroom door as the bed was in the way. This made the room slightly oppressive; a great pity when so much thought had clearly gone into other design features. Nonetheless, the bathroom was more spacious, as well as being modern, spotless and neat. Although it’s in a good location, I would recommend establishing which floor your room will be on before you book this hotel. Walking downstairs is a truly terrifying experience and I have no doubt there are much nicer rooms than the one we stayed in!

Great location just a few minutes walking from the train station in the center of town. We enjoyed our stay despite the hotel not having a lift.
