앰보셀리 소파 로지(AMBOSELI SOPA LODGE)

. I visited the hotel for the 1st time for a workshop with my colleagues and must say I was very underwhelmed . the reputation of this hotel is bigger than the experience . The room was very underwhelming, and there was no hot water in my room. despite been given a strict shower time. most of the windows were stuck open and seemed like they had not been maintained and there was poor safaricom network and zero WIFI . Overall the rooms are very outdated and the curtains offered no privacy as people could see us from outside. ( my wife was not amused ) the food was okay , however the restaurant seating was not consistent as we had to jostle for tables with the other guests , the menu was okay but could be better for different cuisines ( same menu was served day 1-3) . the conference room had very poor wifi and we struggled to make presentations and access our emails . finally the driveway from the main road needs some work as it is run down , this was more so as we used our own cars to acees the lodge . the views of mt Kilimanjaro however are beautiful and the gardens are well-kept at the restaurant area. might not come back soon .

(This is an excellent effort and i really commend the good conservation and protection works that the owners together with the staff and community have done and still. Accessing the charming and breath taking Amboseli national park from the lodge is easy and the park is wonderfully amazing. We will return, thank you so much.

We really enjoyed the resort and captivating view of Mt Kilimanjaro . Sami should be named as the ambassador of this lodge. He is very friendly and our children loved fishing with him in the little pond . Resort has very relaxed and laid back environment , May be it's because April is low season. All the catering and bar staff are very courteous and nice. Pool was fun too.

A very nice hotel close to Amboseli national park. Lovely view of Kilimanjaro from the hotel. Well maintained area, extremely friendly staff, masaishop at the hotel, many friendly "wild" animals (chimpanches, dikdiks, mongose and more) everywhere, but guards making sure they didnt disturb the guests. Clean and spacious cabins/rooms, missed a fan, but asked in the recepcion, and got one in no time. Very lush and tropical feeling. Nice pool area. Very good food. My favourite place of the five places we stayed in Kenya!

Overall, this was a good stay. We stayed here two nights. It's about a 30 mins drive to the entrance of Amboseli Nat'l park. If I were to choose, I'd prefer to stay within the park. The room was spacious, but the reason I didn't enjoy it was because our room had carpet and thus had this stale dirty smell. It really makes me wonder why accommodations still use carpet, especially accommodations in tropical environments. The bathroom was spacious and had an even bigger shower! The food was nothing to write home about... It was buffet style with the same options we have had at the other Sopa Lodge in the Mara. The views of Kili were breathtaking! We were so fortunate to see Kili with no clouds on both days we were there. The gem of this lodge (besides the views of Kili) was Sam, the gentle Massai Giant (he literally stands at an impressive 6"4'). He has the biggest smile and most pleasant soul. He greeted us every time we returned to the property and even shared some of his stories growing up in the Massai tribe! I probably wouldn't return, but it's a decent stay (as long as you get a room without carpet)

Great staff and food, the rooms were not great quality, but the construction was trying to be locally authentic. Also the pool was nice. The biggest issue was on the night we stayed there was a large oil company convention and they thought OK to blast music at full volume until 3 a.m. when many people staying were on safari and getting up at 6 a.m! Totally unacceptable in my opinion.

First time at a Sopa Lodge. Sami the security/welcome committee of one met me at the tour van and welcomed me like a long lost friend or relative! He made me feel like he was truly glad to see me! He introduced the staff and gave me an orientation to the lodge. Check in was so-so. The rooms are ok and functional. Hot water in the shower at the stated times was only warm at best. Maybe I should have let the water run longer than the recommended 5 minutes but it felt wasteful….. Housekeeping did an excellent job!! The room was clean, beds immaculately made, mosquito nets always in the right position, towels and bathing supplies always provided. The food was great! The wait staff always attentive and ready to assist! The lady at the door assigning tables was very professional yet approachable. A group of Masai came to entertain one night while I was there and the guests all seemed to enjoy it very much! A few of the guests joined in the dancing too!
