Awful hotel. Over priced. Wine list is massively overpriced. Room 110 pokey. Shower awful. The manager will not meet you if you complain. Staff really good but the food is awful. This is the worse hotel I have stayed in Austria. The hotel looks nothing like the pictures. The pool is lovely but it’s the only positive.

Room 110 is really single occupancy but they squeeze two beds into it. Tiny triangle for a balcony. Not even space for one person to sit down. Teeny corner shower. Only big enough for children. No way of controlling the room temperature. Small singles pushed together beds. The food is not good quality and when I asked to speak to the manager he wouldn’t see me. Staff lovely but lacking customer service skills. The wine list has zero tasting notes or description at all. Not even alcohol content. Austria accommodation and food is usually so much better than Josl. I can’t recommend this hotel at all.

We are coming home tomorrow and could easily have staed for an extra week. Fabulous hotel, excellent location and amazing Spa. Erdei Enikő is the masseuse in the Spa and she is absolutely fab at both Sports and relaxation Massage. A must have and reasonably priced for the quality. You can also use the sister hotel’s facilities and they are also great. Obergurgl is, in our opinion one of the best ski resorts in Austria. You will not be disappointed. We will be back to the Josl next year.

We stayed in the hotel via Crystal Ski and had a lovely week. The hotel is really central, just around the corner from the Hohe Mut gondola, the piste ends just across the road from the door to the hotel boot room. The rooms are lovely, super comfy beds and they are happy to provide different pillow etc. if needed. The staff are fantastic, Mark in the restuarant and Annet in the bar were both super friendly and attentive (Annet makes the best cocktails!) I agree with other travels re the tempature - particularly the restaurant in the evening - very warm. The bar was comfortable though and we spent a lot of time in there! (the food in general was excellent) The rooftop spa is lovely, we used that almost every day. Our room was on the first floor facing the road - so a little noisy at times but nothing major. If you're a light sleeper request a room facing the side not on the road

We stayed at the Josl for 4 nights, 5 days. during our stay we were in two rooms, a Double Superior and a Double finest room. Overview: The hotel was very clean and all the staff were welcoming. The staff were ready to help you out if you had any questions or needs. They sorted out our ski passes whilst we were enjoying an arrival drink. The temperature of the hotel was so nice and warm so make sure you bring some thinner layers or you may get a bit hot. Rooms: The rooms were very clean, each room had a coffee machine and pods. There was a bottle of water in the room, it was sparkling however we exchanged it no problem for a bottle of still water. The room was big enough and had plenty of space for us to spread out, the bathroom was to a good standard and the high water pressure was great. The only things we were not massively keen on were the pillows, they were a bit soft for us. Although you can get them switched out for different pillows which on reflection we should have. Also because our room was above the night club we could hear the bass of the music a bit and my partner who is a light sleeper had to have ear plugs in so i would recommend trying to get a rom above the first floor. Bar: In the bar was the most friendly young lady who unfortunately we did not catch the name of. She was incredibly attentive to our needs, she made a lovey hot chocolate. Restaurant: The restaurant food was as good as it gets. Like with many hotels you are given a set table that is yours for the stay where you eat all your meals at. Our main waiter David was kind and welcoming and helped us with every need. Breakfast was buffet style, you could also request specific food like omelettes. In the afternoon there is a snack buffet where you can get all manner of snacks including bread, sausages, fruit and cake. Dinner is a 4 course meal which was amazing, the quality of food was to the highest standard. There is three types of meals for you to choose from, Meat, Fish or Veg. Also if you have any dietary or other requirements there is an extra menu which we did not ask about. Ski Room: The Ski room is rather little but we didn't have any issues and seemed like we were the only ones in the ski room even though it was full of gear. There is a set of stairs which take you right next to the exit of the slope which was a bonus for the end of the day, and only a 3 minute walk to the gondolas. Spa: The spa is on the top two floors of the hotel, on the top is the pool a lovely sitting area with a view of the mountain. I used the spa a few times after coming back from skiing and it was such a nice way to relax. Because it's adults only it was peaceful and you could completely relax. An added bonus was it was pretty empty so you felt like you had the whole spa to yourself. Overall this hotel was one of the best I have stayed in and would recommend to anyone visiting to Obergurgl and would rate it 5 stars!!

Amazing week at the Josl… the welcome was so warm and friendly, location is as close as you can get to the lift station, the food and service were excellent (quality dishes, excellent ingredients). Spa is amazing also, the best in obergurgl!
