켄트 코티지(Kent Cottage)

We thought we were in England when we saw Kent Cottage. It is authentic, charming, quiet and beautifully maintained. Our room was bright, cheerful and nicely decorated, with comfortable beds. The breakfast was the best we had in Sri Lanka-a real English breakfast and all we wanted to eat. The manager was helpful and kind, catering to our every wish. It felt like a home away from home!

My husband Dr Miranda made a reservation for us two weeks prior at the loft with a jacuzzi for the 13th -14th Aug 2023 and paid an advance of Rs.30,000/- Reservation was made by Udari at reservations. My husband called 2 days prior and a day prior to the arrival requesting if the room is confirmed. Udari at reservations confirmed the booking. Upon arrival, after 6 hrs of driving! we were informed that another booking had been made for a foreign Nationality for the same day and same room. Although we arrived first, they refused to offer us the room mentioning that there’s another booking and without our permission they had downgraded our booking to two double rooms. Such a disappointment! We had to look for another place to stay for the night after wasting our time in this place. No response from the reservations, NOT even an APOLOGY or the REASON FOR NOT GIVING US THE ROOM EVEN AFTER WE ARRIVED FIRST! A Foreign National was given the priority instead of the Sri Lankan Nationality. Very disappointed! Very disgusting and poor service. Not profesional at all. Never recommend this place. Poor service. We will be filling an Official Complaint with the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, for Discrimination against Sri Lankan National Customers

Loved it!! I did my solo trip to nuwaraeliya, I told the hotel in advance I’ll be arriving by train. Nalaka was so considerate he’d call and check whereabouts I am and if I’m able to reach the hotel safely. The hotel itself was stunning, amazing Victorian interior designing, I loved it. But, what I loved the most was the staff and the food. Even the service given by Saman was exceptional, they helped me with transportation too. Last but not least the FOOD!! Must try Sri Lankan food! It’s all home made, the uncle who makes the food is so nice, and I can’t tell how authentic Sri Lankan cuisine it was. The best Sri Lankan food I’ve had!

Nice hotel in a gated compound of fairytale english cottages just a 5min (400Rs) tuktuk drive from nuwara eliyah centre. Comfortable room with fancy bathroom and full english breakfast. Very friendly staff! Would recommend if your looking for a different kind of place to stay from usual hotels

We stayed for the second time at this converted barn and yet again it was beautiful. The inside is open and clean with two bedrooms both en-suite. It has a little kitchen and front room area as well. Outside is a garden with chairs and a table set in a little garden off a massive garden that the owners own. They also provided a barbeque and seat covers and somewhere if it rained we could sit in. We had our own parking for two and was quite private from the main house. Jenny the owner provided a basket with fresh home maid bread, jam and biscuits plus a few other bits. It is a delightful cottage and I cant wait to go back. There is also a pub within walking distance. I recommended this place 100 percent.

The best place we stayed, delicious food, Clean and very comfortable rooms. The staff was very friendly and supportive. Specially Mr. Nalaka. Thank you very much for everything. Definitely recommend this place and will definitely come back.

As much picturesque this place was, the best thing about Kent Cottage is the amazing hospitality and service by Nalaka, Saman and the team. The food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for the perfect stay in Nuwara Eliya. ❤️

Kent cottage is surrounded with a mesmerising landscapes in Nuwara Eliya. We booked the suit with a jacuzzi. We had a comfortable stay with all the essential facilities and more. We loved the lounge area the most, with all the games and stuff. It was cozy and awesome. And the jacuzzi was great. The suit was spacious and beautiful. Even the prices were reasonable and affordable. Food were so delicious , most probably the best food we had in our honeymoon trip. Choices were limited. Yet the quality wise they were the best. Finally i will mention the reason we loved this place than any other place we went. It was the staff. I have never experience such a great hospitality ever in my life. They were polite and committed. They treated us the best way possible. Specially mr. Nalaka. He was the key person who made our stay an unforgettable one. So i would like to reccommond this place to anyone who looks for an awesome exeprience in beautiful Nuwaraeliya.

How to describe this place? Impossible with words, you just have to live it. The place its so cozy and beautiful, that you feel at home. The room amazing, the house perfect, tea very nice and the breakfast and service from Nalaka and the other guys, exceptional. Nalaka made our one night stay amazing, he is very helpful and always taling care of anything you need. Thank you for everything, me and my wife love this place and our stay there. Before we were at Shangri La in Colombo, but I liked this places 1000 times more, its a very special place
