마마스 인 부티크 게스트 하우스(Mama’s Inn Boutique Guest House)

Not one for fans of chic, restrained stole. Mama's Inn is a treasure house of quirky opulence crammed into an otherwise undistinguished terrace a short stroll from the city centre. The breakfast (orange juice, fruit salad, coffee, toast/marmalade and a choice from which I chose a well made porridge adorned with bananas, soft fruit and "of course" maple syrup) is delicious and nutritious. I can't comment on the set dinner as I didn't order it in advance. If I ever have another trip to Nottingham, I will remedy this mistake! If you have heavy or bulky baggage, make sure that you don't book a room on the second floor, as the staircase is quite narrow and there is no lift.

Lovely quirky hotel, excellent location near city centre. We stayed in Venice room which is pretty small but lovely if a little over furnished. Whole place is very clean with a lovely welcome and a huge selection of breakfast options from across the world ! Never seen options from Norway,Russia,Israel,Turkey France, Spain to name a few !!room a little noisy as people arrived back during evening on stair case outside but can get that anywhere - lovely stay

So glad we found this little gem, was looking at the generic hotel chains and Mamas popped up, same price (if not cheaper) than the main hotels but the quirky, individual styled rooms caught our eye. We were not disappointed, the room (St Petersburg) was immaculate and the little extras that Marina had provided made it even better. Definitely our go to accommodation in Nottingham. We also had breakfast here and the food was delicious and the options varied and catered for gluten free (I'm have Coeliac disease)

We were in the Casablanca room, so many details to discover. My partner has limited mobility and our hosts went the extra mile to make our stay hassle free. The breakfast choice is unique and special. My partner played it safe with the full English which was faultless and I went more exotic with the Russian Draniki, a tasty new experience. Would recommend to anyone.

Just terrific, as described, really off the wall decor very cleverly done, interesting and friendly owners, who recommend local eateries. Clean and comfortable bed, spotless bathroom, plenty of little extras,really do recommend a visit

Having read the 5/5 reviews, we were really looking forward to our stay at Mama’s Inn. The name alone suggests your stay is going to feel like a big, warm, comforting hug. There’s no doubting the themed-room guest house is a great concept, in a great location, which, upon booking a few months ago, made the higher price point (despite breakfast not being included) seem reasonable. However, Mama’s Inn did not live up to expectation. We would have been prepared to overlook the lack of parking (despite paying an extra £10 to reserve a space), the dirty bin, the stained seating, the dirty toilet seat, the yellow splatters on the toilet door frame, the lack of hand towels, the dirty soap dispenser, the small and scratchy bath towels (no hand towels), the frayed rug, the hard mattress, the dribble-y shower which lost pressure and water entirely and the road noise IF the overall hospitality had been luke warm and mildly friendly. Everything about the communication is rude and abrasive - almost as though the owners were annoyed by guests being present. Whilst the decor gives the amazing building its quirky character, the energy and atmosphere couldn’t have been more flat and uninspiring. If you’re looking for a funny anecdote to share at a dinner party, by all means stay here, but if you want to be treated courteously, it might be best to book somewhere more hospitable. And be prepared to be receive a series of spiky emails if you dare to leave this type of review, it’s not pleasant to deal with.

We stayed overnight at a weekend and quite honestly were blown away by every aspect of the experience. The décor was quirky and created a lot of interest, the cleanliness was faultless, the service and attention to detail unrivalled. Slept perfectly and loved the Chakshuka breakfast. How on earth they manage to do all this with the prices they charge is commendable. If you are visiting Nottingham stay here, do not bother to go anywhere else. You will not be disappointed. I will definitely be back and thank you.

Nothing wrong with the room, it was very clean and quirky. However, given we drove for over three hours we arrived earlier than 3PM just to ask if we could park somewhere. The opening gambit was “Checkin’s not ‘till 3”. After some grumbling about if a space was available we were found a space and paid £20 and told to come back after 3 when we could be shown to our room. This consisted of “it’s up the stairs on the left”. No offer to show us or carry bags or even to come out of the office to speak with us. Never saw the owners again for two days and didn’t see them on check out. Sorry guys, but we’ve paid £250 to stay with you and felt like an inconvenience with no appreciation for us as customers. We might have had breakfast but all we got was “the rate doesn’t include breakfast”. No nice chit chat or anything. I’m not saying this to be nasty, I can see others have had the same experience and you’re losing custom as we won’t come back. Otherwise a nice hotel in a convenient location.

We stayed in the new york room . Very large, comfortable. Apart from noisy metal furnishings (wardrobe, bed side cabinets, side board) it was a good room.
