The Wythe was our base for the wedding. We booked two rooms for two nights and used both to get ready on the day. Nearly every other review here is about a normal weekend in Brooklyn, so this one is for anyone weighing it up for a wedding. The rooms are large, carefully put together, good to look at, and already well stocked when you walk in. The South 7th Loft went to the bride. It absorbed her, five bridesmaids, two mothers, plus hair and makeup, all going at once, and still had room to spare. A Brooklyn Terrace took the groom's side, eight of us. Its terrace earned its place: somewhere shaded to wait out a hot August morning, and where the groomsmen and the two dads were photographed ahead of the first looks. The morning ran without friction. Whatever we asked for turned up: a steamer, more hangers, more chairs. The desk called up every time a delivery or a person arrived. Guests coming up were issued elevator passes rather than left waiting downstairs. Our planner, photographers, and hair-and-makeup team moved freely between the two rooms. When we went out to photograph around Williamsburg, the hotel stashed everyone's bags, ours and our guests', behind reception, so leaving for the ceremony was one stop on the way out rather than a relay back up to the rooms. The loft earns its keep twice over: once in the morning, and again when we came back to it at the end of the wedding, with the whole Manhattan skyline sitting in the windows. There are other great lofts we did not stay in, so all we can say is this one was excellent. The people are the reason we would come back. Reception, the concierge desk, the porters and door staff, and the sales team who put the booking together were all helpful, and they gave us latitude on timings at either end of the stay. Both rooms had champagne, extra water, and a handwritten note waiting.
