더 브루클린(The Brooklyn)

The pics are very deceiving. There are no amenities and for the rate per night to be what it is I definitely felt bamboozled. The hotel is considerably older which looks like some updates were done however floor in front of the bathroom was sticky. Luckily I was there for a short stay. Location is right outside of the part of Brooklyn where you feel safe. I think I walked past human feces on the ground heading to get something to eat. When I say no amenities that’s what I mean. No kitchen, no bar, no gym. The elevator worked intermittently. The makeup mirror was broken, there was a reading light fixture that was broken, and I had to get creative to get the faucet to stop continuously running. Luckily I only had two bags and was only there for two nights, any longer and I’d be asking for a refund or disputing the charge.

It was a great time there need to go back one more time

This one night stay was enough to put me off this hotel for life. Firstly the area is unfortunate for the hotel, in one of the more problematic areas of Brooklyn; I wouldn't recommend walking around at night nearby and I didn't feel safe. Secondly service, the elevator was out which can't be helped and walking up 3 flights of stairs isn't the end of the world; but then being called to be told you need to change rooms at 11pm due a mistake at check in when you are in bed already was not acceptable and that you need to come back to the 1st floor. Finally, to add insult the new room was at 60 degrees, and then told to wait 15 minutes to see if it gets better?! Luckily, they did provide a heater when I requested.

This is definitely not a place for tourists or people out of town. The area is super sketchy specially for a woman and for the same reason the hotel tends to have super sketchy people in the hallways, there is no security and no controlled access to the hotel. Absolutely not a place where you can get a good night sleep as there is people coming and going at all hours of the night including moaning sounds, terrible, terrible experience.

In a sketchy part of Brooklyn, however, if they updated the hotel and actually made use of the bar/lounge area it could be a great place to stay. I loved the brick in the room, but really dated.

absolutely dirty, broken facilities, the shower head, the night light. the pillows are small square and hard, the carpet is filthy. we arrived and for a whole day there were trash bags in the room doors. I wanted to book something and not even stay, but it was too late to cancel my reservation. the staff was nice, but they have no clue. No security at all, anyone comes in and out, the door always unlocked and the area is not nice. I never stayed in a worse place , ever .

Do not stay there,it looks like that hotel is housing people the whole place smelled so strong of **** and cigarettes,the room I had when I walked in it smelled like someone just finish smoking **** in the room, I tried to open the window and couldn't because it was broken the window came off the hinges,the bathroom door to use the toilet was stuck and could not close it when i called the front desk to ask for another room they stated that i took the last room..I would not recommend this place at all.

You can't beat the price for a Brooklyn hotel. However, it's noisy. We moved from a room near the train tracks to the back of the property, but you can hear doors banging, toilets flushing, and coffee machines most of the night. You have to ask to have the rooms cleaned. The elevators weren't working for four of the five nights we stayed. If we stay again, it will be because of the price, but know it won't be an ideal experience.
