Lost its glory. It was once built to be a nice property; recessed lighting, built in cabinets, drop ceiling etc. HOWEVER, poorly maintained, if any at all. We stayed in room 106. was decent, bathroom ok, but very cramped with no counter space to lay out your staff (no desk, no closet). so they moved us to room 109. 109 has a window so less claustrophobic than 106 but it’s by the road side so it’s non stop loud traffic. We were only in the room to sleep so the noise didn’t bother us as much. The worst problem is the bathroom. BLACK MOLD EVERYWHERE. behind the sink, corners, bath walls, , ceilings, toilets, doors, it’s just GROSS. I had to use a towel to open and shut the bathroom door because the mold is on every spot. Cold showers for 3/ 4 nights! It’s winter. They kept telling us wait for 15 min. I wish they could have been honest and just tell us there is no way to have hot water because we later found out the boiler was broken . Instead, we waited and waited. In the shower, there was a large bucket on the ground below the spigot to collect water- like in the villages. The bucket is there to collect water while the faucet runs until hot water comes through the pipe. Anyway, our buckets were full and we never had hot water. So now, you use a smaller bucket provided to scoop the collected water to flush the toilet next to it. Bath towels are like rags, dirty and heavily stained/ soiled . The one star is for the staff. The nice young *** at the counter was so sweet, spoke good english and always attended to anything we asked. He apologized about the boiler. I appreciated him trying so we left him a nice tip despite our displease with our stay. There is an army of “helpers” standing around waiting for orders, but otherwise doing nothing. If only ***agement could see the dilapidated state of the bathrooms, get these boys scrub and soap and clean up the mold and grime, this hotel would have some grace. No cleaning of rooms in all the days we stayed. Both local taxis and Uber find it difficult to locate the hotel - because of the narrow intersection of a ***** it is on. Once, we were charged extra because driver had to go against traffic. A restaurant on roof top offers decent meals at affordable prices but don’t expect roof top views; more like an enclosed room on the roof floor (it was a hotel suite converted into a room for dining). This is a 1 star hotel. A few more dollars could buy you better. I regretted trusting the photos online.
