Family of five, clean rooms, comfortable beds & bathroom shower nice. Breakfast really good , a plus! Walls a little thin, can hear neighbors talking & laughing. Would stay here again 😁

I really liked this hotel. Our room on the first (Americans would say "second") floor (16) was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Even though it was hot outside, the room was comfortable without AC. The restaurant was wonderful, and we ate both lunch and dinner there mutliple times. You need to make reservations for dinner at the restaurant, which you can easily do through the hotel website. Most of the hotel and restaurant staff speak English and had patience with my German. The Steppach Mitte bus stop is about 100 yeards from the hotel. You can take the bus to streetcar stops. The closest streetcar stop is five minutes away by car "Augsburg West P&R" and is a "park and ride." A car is convenient but not necessary for most to stay here. Parking is an issue at the hotel, especially when the restaurant / beer garden is open. There is no elevator. We were initially given a room (31) on the second (Americans would say "third") floor that was small, hot, and dark, with small windows. The German word that came to my mind was "finster." We had to stay in that room one night while the hotel staff arranged for a different room the next day. (The hotel was full.) The staff did a great job switching our rooms. The neighborhood is worth exploring. Kobel Cross and Bismarck Tower--both on hills with spectacular views of Augsburg--are a mile or so away. I walked to each multiple times. I would be remiss if I failed to mention that the breakfasts were simply excellent.

Beautiful facility. Old charm but with very modern conveniences. The breakfast was wonderful. We didn’t eat our evening meal but many locals did. Authentic German good. Great choice!

This place was absolutely incredible. From the first minute in the door, I felt so well taken care of. The room was beyond amazing- so picturesque and unique. The restaurant food was delicious, and a great intro for someone like me who is new to the area and the dishes. I honestly cant wait to come back!

Der Brauereigasthof Josef Fuchs bietet eine gute Unterkunft und freundliches Personal an der Rezeption. Die Lage etwas ausserhalb von Augsburg ermöglicht eine ruhige Umgebung, während die Innenstadt und der Plärrer in kurzer Fahrzeit erreichbar sind. Das Familienzimmer war sauber und gepflegt, jedoch bemerkenswert dunkel. Dies könnte für einige Gäste ein Nachteil sein, insbesondere für diejenigen, die eine helle Atmosphäre bevorzugen. Leider war die Bedienung im Restaurant während unseres Besuchs unterdurchschnittlich. Im vollen Restaurant und Biergarten mussten wir 90 Minuten auf unser Essen warten, und auch die Getränke liessen etwa 30 Minuten auf sich warten. Als wir im Restaurant Platz nahmen, wurden wir von einer Bedienung bedient, die scheinbar keine Scheu hatte, ihre Unzufriedenheit über ihren eigenen Lohn als Bedienung zu äussern. Es war unangenehm, mit anzuhören, wie sie über ihre finanzielle Situation klagte, während sie uns bediente. Dies schuf eine unangenehme Atmosphäre, die unseren Appetit merklich beeinträchtigte. Zu unserem Bedauern ging es jedoch nicht nur um den unprofessionellen Umgang mit ihrer eigenen finanziellen Situation. Als wir die Rechnung beglichen und das Trinkgeld hinterliessen, wurden wir auf unverschämte Weise über die Höhe des Trinkgeldes angemacht. Es war offensichtlich, dass die Bedienung nicht zufrieden mit dem Betrag war und uns dies auf unangemessene Weise spüren liess. Um die Situation zu entschärfen, entschieden wir uns, das Trinkgeld (unbegründeter Weise) um 20 Euro zu erhöhen, in der Hoffnung, dass dies den unangenehmen Vorfall beenden würde. Doch stattdessen wurden wir als Geste mit einem sarkastischen "na geht doch" quittiert, was uns nur noch frustrierter machte. Dies führte zu einer weniger angenehmen Erfahrung für uns als Gäste. Die Foodqualität war jedoch einwandfrei und die bayrischen Speisen waren ein Traum. Obwohl wir bereits dreimal Gast in diesem Haus waren, haben wir beschlossen, dass dies das letzte Mal war. Beim nächsten Besuch in der Gegend werden wir wahrscheinlich ein Hotel in der Innenstadt von Augsburg buchen. Insgesamt bietet der Brauereigasthof Josef Fuchs eine solide Unterkunft mit freundlichem Empfangspersonal und einer günstigen Lage. Jedoch ist die Servicequalität im Restaurant verbesserungswürdig, was möglicherweise zu einer Abwägung bei der Auswahl dieses Hotels führen könnte.
