We only stayed here one night but wished we could have stayed longer. You get a spacious apartment and outdoor terrace with beautiful sea views. The gardens are beautiful. The accommodation is located on a steep hill so you need to drive in and out with care. Nelson is a fantastic small city - we would recommend Melrose House with a lovely cafeteria and which is free to walk around.

The property was fantastic - spectacular views of the water and fun nautical theme throughout the property. Sally and Ralph were great hosts and provided a well stocked kitchen and all the comforts of home.

The views are amazing from all rooms, the big windows make the most of the sea views. Clean and spacious apartment. Nice kitchen and private deck out the side. The only negative is the shower- no pressure and hard to get temperature right, the shower is very big but you have to walk out of water to adjust taps. Very hard to rinse shampoo out of hair with a dribble of water. No instructions about how to check in so went to wrong accommodation initially and had to phone lady. We stayed in the upper deck.

Fantastic location. Thoughtfully fitted out full kitchen. Great rooms. Awesome sea views. Gracious welcoming hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The kids didn't want to leave. Highly recommended for families wanting the self catering option.

This was our least favorite accommodation on our 2 week stay in NZ. The seating was uncomfortable, the TV was tiny, the bed sheets were low quality and frankly we did not think it was clean - some of the dishware was still dirty and the amount of dust was visible (the oar coming down the stairs has a THICK layer). We also emailed them while we were there (we had no phone service) and got no response.

Wonderful experience staying in the Crow's Nest cottage. Clean, comfortable, gorgeous views off the deck. And, visitors from North America will appreciate this: some of the windows have screens! Highly recommended.

nice view but not walkable to anywhere. There are very few dining options close by. The fish shop had very little fresh fish because of the time of year we assume.

Just the most astounding panoramic view from a really well appointed apartment. Immaculately clean, easy living we enjoyed our 7 day stay immensely. Would return happily anytime with Ralph very helpful. Free use of bike very much appreciated

We really loved staying here and will definitely be back. It was stunning and very homely, clean and comfortable. Everything was provided that you would need such as complimentary washing power, detergent, cooking equipment, sugar, tea, coffee.The supermarket is not too far away along with close proximity to restaurants, dairy's etc for any extra's you may need. But the house -Oh how we loved the house!!! Fantastic views, comfy furniture, comfy bed, washing machine and dryer, nicely furnished, and just a gorgeous quiet central location. I cant say enough about The Wheelhouse Inn. Surpassed all of our expectations and have already recommended it to all our friends. Well done. 10/10 from us
