We had decided to stay 2 nights at villa Nazareth in September. Breakfast was delicious, lady at breakfast was lovely and the general manager who we met on our last day was also very friendly and accommodating. However unfortunately we didn’t have the best experience, and it became apparent that a good host really does make a difference to the enjoyment of the holiday. Our reasons were - we arrived to a completely empty hotel and had to wait almost 2 hours until someone arrived to check us in. - Once he arrived he was hardly apologetic and said the delay was because he’d been at a funeral. I would suggest in the future you get someone to cover the desk when you are aware that guests are arriving. - The front gate was open and unlocked, which I thought seemed unsafe given there were 0 staff on the grounds. - he made us feel very unwelcome from the beginning, and made it suggest we were at fault for moaning that we had waited so long. In the two nights we stayed at the hotel he did not smile at us once! - They advertise a 24/7 reception but he seemed unaware of the content on the website and informed us that the reception closes at 10pm. He suggested we find another hotel if we were unhappy with that arrangement. It would be very stressful to find a hotel so last minute and he seemed to have a lack of emotional intelligence. - While trying to book a taxi, he would isolate me from the conversation and start speaking to his friend in Arabic. - Finally, during our stay the reception was unattended for 90% of our stay, which I note has been raised by other reviewers over the years so I doubt anything will change.
