For Nashville, this hotel was great. Nice staff, and a great breakfast. It is a two story hotel with no elevator. This was the nicest Quality Inn I have ever stayed in. TripAdvisor wants me to keep typing to get to 200 characters, and this should do it.

This is an old and small, family owned hotel. Not the greatest, but it did appear to me that they were making some improvements. We stayed here earlier this year and I said I didn’t want to stay here again, but the price was right for a Saturday night stay in November so tried it again. The ice machine was working and they had repaired the stairway that previously looked pretty dangerous. Again, don’t expect the Holiday Inn, but it is one of very few hotels near town that except pets. We’ve stayed a few times and have not ever seen any bugs.

While the location is perfectly central and cannot be better, the reception, guest rooms, and general facilities and amenities are completely lackluster. Beds are old, creaky and deserve to be retired as they are rickety. The mattresses are worn, hollow and offering no support or comfort while the pillows are cheap, lumpy and flat and bedlinens threadbare (quite possibly also hailing from the 1800s). The rooms are very basic and bathrooms, in particular, are drab and sorely outdated. For the nightly fee charged, the accommodation couldn't possibly be considered value for money. The airconditioning is very noisy and offers little to no cooling, no fans are provided and the mesh framing in front of the window is broken. The TV is no larger than a computer monitor. We were unable to check-in on arrival (just shortly before 4 pm) as the rooms were "not ready' and we had to walk around outside in 97F heat for 45 mins and had to return twice to check the status of the room before we could be checked-in. This was not ideal at the end of a long and tiring 6hr drive. Between the noisy floors, noisy bed, noisy aircon, and disorderly, drunken neighboring guests, it was impossible to get decent sleep and we opted not to stay for the second night, however, no refund or discounted rate for the second night was offered although the town was busy and the room could have easily been re-let to another unsuspecting guest. At no point did management make any gesture in apology for any inconvenience but, due to the high demand for accommodation in the town it appears that Artist's Colony has no real motivation towards the betterment of service, maintenance or facilities as they rely on a captive market. While the location is awesome with easy access to all the quaint shops, the accommodations and customer care sadly lack and thus guests end up paying a premium for location only. We will not return to Artist's Colony and will consider alternative options for future visits to Nashville IN.

We loved our stay. We had a great set of rooms with a nice view. The bed was very comfortable, it was a king size. The bathroom hooked to the bedroom has a walk in shower. There was another full bathroom in the rooms and it had a tub/shower combination. The furniture was older but not worn and very comfortable. The whole atmosphere of the Hotel is "victorianish" so to have older furnishings fit in. The kitchenette was nice. If I had any complaint it was that the microwave did not have a rotating base like many do so items we were heating up did not always cook evenly. Also, at least in the unit we were in, there was a cook top,but no oven so don't plan on baking anything. There was a dishwasher but we did not use it. We had two TV's with our unit. The only added extra that would have helped would have been some form of guide so you would know what was on. The complementary breakfast each morning was adequate. There was always the waffle machine, sweet rolls, cereal, coffee, juice., toast, bagel and instant oatmeal. If there was anything lacking it would have been protein and more fresh fruit. We did not use the pool or hot tub so can't comment on that. Also we were there during the part of the week that the bar/restaurant that is located at the hotel was not open. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely go back again.

I had plan on visiting my daughter her family and my son and family, who live in the area In October. I had to cancel the reservation I made due to a hospitalization. I had a deposit that was used for My new reservation. I didn’t realize it at The time but my Oct. reservation was just a Out $350 for a 3 day stay, my recent reservation was over $750 for 4 days. During check in I brought this fact to the clerks attention. Her response “ I know nothing a out that and I don’t want to find out”. As I stood there amazed at her answer she held the key asking me “Well are you checking in or not”. Nice attitude. I proceeded to ck in. I was tired after my drive and was looking forward to dinner with my kids and grand children. Dinner was great, my daughter gave me some sliced ham for my breakfast. Great stuff fired ham! I readied for bed. Well I found the mattress was broken from people sitting on the side putting on socks and shoes, needless to say the mattress was a disaster. I woke up with a very bad aching in my lower back. Looking forward to breakfast I could not find coffee filters, but did find packets of premixed coffee, which I made, it was really sucked, tasted stale. I travel with my own coffee, that way I know what I am getting. Now let’s fire some ham and make some toast. Problem there were no frying pans, and no pots of any kind. Only thing I found was 3 cookies sheets and a cup cake sheet. Well I was in the war so i improvised, I was amazed how well the cookie sheet worked as a frying pan. It bent a little, but I am sure it will return to normal. I rent the condo, I’ve been coming here since they were built, even considered buying one once but realized the construction was not the best. Every weekend when I am there my grand kids come over for a tradition, we have pancake contest, who can eat the most pop pop pancakes. Now tough to do pancakes with a frying pan. I called the office. The clerk listened to my problem, the bed, the lack of filters, and no pits pans, frying pans. There response “so”. Yea I hung up. Cookies sheet pancakes. Not the same as a frying pan. It was obvious to me that this place had a change in management since I was here last, as it was always a great place to stay. This was and will be my last time. So if anyone thinks you’ll be treated as a valued guest, forget it.
