넬슨스 코트 서비스 아파트먼트(Nelson's Court Serviced Apartments)

We were there in December for a wedding and booked this accommodation. It felt more expensive compared to other serviced apartments in Nairobi. However the staff were great, rooms were clean and well kept. Good privacy as well. You'll feel like your in a home. There are good restaurants across the street at the Oval. We loved art cafe for their pastries, burgers and pizzas. There's also an Indian and see food restaurant we we couldn't try.

We were here for a week and its a very pleasant property. It's peaceful, clean and well maintained. We enjoyed our stay. It's close to some food restaurants and malls as well. Good place to stay if you're in Nairobi for a few days.

Great location, generally clean, and the studio is larger and more stocked than a hotel room. The photos are a little deceptive, it's smaller than you think. The kitchen is a little bit understocked but not massively. Shower is good. It was quiet over the weekend, but there was a little construction noise on Monday morning.

I stayed here for the first time in a couple of years. I have to say I was a bit disappointed on this occasion. Facilities have been cut back, maintenance reduced etc which leaves the site a little run down. But the positives first: ＞ The booking was relatively easy. Elizabeth responded to emails quickly and accurately (although when I asked whether the rate included breakfast she didn't mention that the restaurant had closed.) ＞ Great location, easy walking distance to Westgate Mall, Sarit Centre, the Oval etc. Plenty of restaurants nearby. ＞ The internet was good enough to sustain video conferences. I noticed from reading other's reviews that internet had been a problem but my internet access was fine. ＞ The basic facilities in the room are good, there is plenty of space (I was in a one bedroom apartment), kitchen area is well equipped (fridge-freezer, toaster etc), bed is comfortable, plenty of wardrobe space, a room-safe etc plus plenty of electrical sockets (square and round pin). The bathroom facilities are good, toiletries provided and laundry of towels done daily as a matter of course. ＞ The room was cleaned every day. I got the impression staff had been cut back and the lady who cleaned my apartment worked really hard. ＞ Free parking. ＞ The apartment allows the delivery of fast food, and finally.... ＞ The road construction in front of the property is completed. However on the negative side I observed the following: ＞ The restaurant where one used to get an excellent breakfast has closed. ＞ There is no longer a 24 hour management presence on site, after about 8:00 pm if you want anything the only person to ask is the security guard at the gate. ＞ There were no provisions for Covid. Staff do not wear masks, there were no hand sanitizers in reception or provided in the rooms etc ＞ My advice is retune the TV every morning because the channels change. When I last stayed I had a choice of DSTV channels including news, entertainment, football and movies etc. On this stay for most days I had a choice of the Cartoon Network or Al Jazeera News and a channel which was "booting up" for several days at a time. One day I got a movie channel and on a couple of days I got CNN. ＞ I mentioned the cut back in maintenance. There had been a problem with my desk sometime in the past and I noticed it had been repaired with a bit of one-by-four nailed across the bottom - it would look better if the wood had been cut to size and painted instead of being just nailed on, for example. One of the rings on the electric hob was "temperamental." There were small things like no bread knife provided, no tea towels provided, the foot pedal on the waste bins in the kitchen and bathroon were broken, I had to ask for some crockery when I checked in etc. All of these things, whilst minor in themselves added together to create an impression of a block of apartments being managed on a very tight budget.
