When we arrived we were given a room that hadn't been cleaned yet. When we opened the door we actually thought that there was another customer still inside. We went back to the reception and we got an upgrade, and a couple of drinks for free. When we went to to our new bedroom, the same situation - not cleaned yet. The third bedroom was clean but at night we found out that we were put right next to a family who had booked a few (at least 2 for sure) rooms around us. The children kept going in and out of the bedrooms, releasing the doors to close by themselves. The mother and kids were speaking loudly, not only in the bedroom but in the corridors as well. Sometimes the kids would mistaken our door by theirs and also knock on ours. Therefore we would be falling asleep and all of the sudden woken up. Eventually we had to call the reception. As a couple looking for some quite and a relaxing time in a small town we realised we made a poor decision in staying here. We understand that after two unprepared rooms, the receptionist just wanted to put us somewhere, however they should have had the sensitivity and awareness to not put a couple with no kids near a big family that had several rooms. In addition, we booked a room with late check-out (until 17:00). On the day of check-out we were asked 3 times when were we leaving. One time by the cleaning staff, another time by the receptionist who called our room and another time by the cleaning staff again, who knocked on our door. Because we had gotten our vaccines the day before we were expecting some symptoms, therefore the late check-out so we could rest as much as possible before going back home. However by 14:30 we were feeling pushed out and so we just called a Uber to bring us back to Amsterdam. In general the hotel looks mainly focused for business customers and the rooms are outdated. The walls are thin and the doors close heavily. The staff tried to be really nice and apologetic but... the customer experience in general was not great. I do not recommend this NH.
