알프호텔 에탈(Alphotel Ettal)

Lovely hotel just outside the main part of the village. Very polite and friendly staff; pool and sauna available on arrival but we didn’t use. Booked evening meal at time we wanted on arrival also. We were able to order drinks then to take up to our room. We were upgraded to a room with a little balcony which was located overlooking the small street but then over to the mountains. 2nd floor room 204: hotel style bedroom with private bathroom which had a shower, toilet and sink; towels provided; also a hairdryer and shaving mirror. Beds comfy. room warm but ok. Floors carpeted. Evening meal was reasonably priced and delicious, and portions were large. We had soup, salad and Gordon Bleu, beers and wines for around €55. Hotel style and service for good B&B prices. Definitely recommend.

We went to Alphotel Ettal as part of our package to see the Passion Play. The hotel itself was quaint - room was cozy, especially the shower, but had everything we needed. Staff were pleasant and professional. Food was ample and surprisingly flavorful (we have found European food a bit bland on our past trips, so we enjoyed the spices). One major downside is our room was right by the construction equipment so our view was unpleasant - so was the noise. Also finding the hotel was tricky using public transportation (we were coming from Munich). If we had had a nicer room, we would have enjoyed our stay much more.

We stayed here as a group from South Africa to attend the passion play in oberammergau. The staff were very friendly, efficient and went out of their way to make sure that we were tended t. The food was lovely and the breakfast pack for the airport fantastic!

Just a very brief stay here (one night) whilst visiting the Passion Play at Oberammergau. Very good hotel with clean rooms and comfortable beds. Since time is very pressured if you are visiting the play it was good that the hotel had everything really well organized- lots of people to feed and get out again in under an hour- and they did it. Good food- we were well looked after. What was really appreciated was that whereas our tour information said that we had to vacate our rooms by 9.00 and that we'd be picked up 9.45 the reality was that we could actually stay in our rooms until our pick up time. That was really appreciated. So, a very short stay at the hotel but everything was very well organized there and they looked after us well, showing great kindness and understanding. Sitting on the room balcony, looking at the mountains whilst waiting for our pick up was really nice. I'd certainly stay here again.

Spent a night here after the passion play. Was a very nice quiet clean and very friendly staff hotel. Would stay here again if in that area so pretty around there. It is alittle off the beaten path but that's what I like, just an easy beautiful walk into the main town.

The Staff at the Alphotel displayed an amazing degree of compassion as we faced a very tragic personal loss during our stay. They went beyond what was needed or expected to assist us in our time of crisis and were nothing but caring, kind and considerate as we dealt with our tragedy.

Ottima esperienza in questo Hotel, molto Bello, silenzioso e caldo. Bella struttura costruita con tanto bel legno, rifiniture buone e camere molto accoglienti silenziose e calde. Prima colazione molto abbondante e con possibilità di variare da dolce a salato. Consigliatissimo!

Abbiamo prenotato online, trovandoci di passaggio ad Ettal in direzione Stuttgart, ci siamo scambiati due e-mail, ricevendo le indicazioni precise per il nostro arrivo in tarda serata. L’impressione complessiva è stata ottima, con una camera spaziosa e bagno completo di ogni comfort e pulizia accurata. Il sonno è stato rigenerante ed alla mattina abbiamo apprezzato la Sala Colazioni luminosa e accogliente, con una buona scelta di pietanze dolci e salate. Il personale e’ professionale e ci siamo trovati molto bene.

Wir waren für 5 Nächte im Alphotel eingebuchtet. Die Zimmer waren wohl sauber, aber sehr klein, sodass ein gemütlicher Aufenthalt nicht möglich war. Der Teppichboden und die Federbetten sind nicht mehr zeitgemäß und als Allergiker für mich eine Herausforderung. Auf die Frage nach Bettzeug ohne Federn, bekam ich ein Kopfkissen mit mit Kunststofffüllung gereicht, auf dem ich im Sitzen schlafen konnte. 2 Nächte verbrachte ich dann mit einer allergischen Reaktion im Krankenhaus. Schade…… Leider fehlten Fliegengitter vor den Fenstern….wäre schon zweckmäßig. Das Bad war funktionell, aber renovierungsbedürftig und leider „dufteten“ die Handtücher nicht frisch gewaschen. Zum Frühstück kann ich nur so viel sagen……wir sind satt geworden. Zum Glück gab es auch Filterkaffee , anstatt Automatenkaffee. Das Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Aussicht vom Balkon auf die Berge einfach phantastisch. Da das Hotel am Ende von Ettal liegt, war es nachts sehr ruhig und wir wurden nicht durch Verkehrslärm gestört.
