일랑 일랑 비치 리조트(Ylang Ylang Beach Resort)

Ylang Ylang is so fun, the food there is really good, the staff are so friendly, the beach is amazing, the activities/experiences they provide are top notch; don’t book anything in town/at a separate place without speaking to the Yang Ylang front desk first because the tour companies they have relationships with are top notch. Definitely go to Tortuga Island! Definitely book a horse back ride (make sure you bring a backpack to put your breakfast burritos and water in there! And wear sunscreen/cover up from the sun!) The spa at ylang ylang is really nice; located up a hill in the trees; it’s very peaceful. They also have yoga sessions everyday. I can’t wait to come back to this place. I cried when I had to leave. It’s beautiful there.

Ylang Ylang was amazing hotel. It was very secluded in Montezuma but direct on the beach and covered up in trees that are loaded with white faced monkeys, Holler monkeys and lizards/iguanas everywhere. The mosquitos also joined in the party in mass so got to have spray with you. The setting of the rooms and entire resort was fabulous. It was located such that you could get to several waterfalls. The Montezuma falls was nice. Not hard walk but did require some traversing over rocks and up/down trees and roots. My wife actually got her foot stuck between rocks and was not able to catch herself and landed full force on her shoulder. Just bruised but can be tricky. And my wife is quite fit and maneuverable so not an age or out of shape thing. The restaurant was amazing. The room rate came with breakfast and dinner. Anyone complaining about the food, amount or quality, is absolutely ridiculous. There are over 3 or 4 pages of selections of food for dinner. And my wife and I tried a different one each night and not a single one was short of amazing. They were all fresh and light. I had Mahi Mahi dishes mostly but all made differently. They had sushi which was really good according to my wife's brother and sister-in-law who joined us for dinner one night. One topic to consider though is the rooms are not air tight meaning you will have some critters to maybe join you at night. Not large iguanas or things like this. Just small bugs. So don't be surprise and should be expected for such an environment. We also did a horseback ride from right in from of the resort to a waterfall that flows right into the ocean. It was abou 3 hours total and only my wife, the guide and me. Most of the ride was direct on the beach but some was in the trees. It suggest pants but my wife and I wore shorts. Should've wore pants. The horses rub you up against trees/branches and we got nicked up a bit. Also can get raw with feet/legs rubbing against the saddle parts. But amazing ride and guide was super nice gentlemen. When we arrived at the waterfall, he cutup some pineapples and diced them up for us. I've never had more sweeter pineapple in my life than in Costa Rica. Highly recommend Ylang Ylang along with its location in Montezuma. We stayed in Santa Teresa after our Ylang Ylang visit and most of the tours offered by Nantipa in Santa Teresa originated in Montezuma (Horseback riding; Torguga Island Trip; Montezuma waterfall hike). So it is more expensive due to transportation. So if you want to do tours in this area of the country, I highly recommend you stay in Montezuma for a few days and do the tours. Then over to the Santa Teresa area for surfing or other things.

We went to Ylang Ylang for a family Thanksgiving trip. The resort was beautiful and well kept. Our transport and excursions were arranged thru the resort and everything was great. Our shuttle to the resort arrived later than expected and the restaurant kindly stayed open until we arrived so we could have something to eat, much appreciated! The pool was wonderful, very refreshing and beautiful. We enjoyed watching the wildlife as well. Beach access was awesome and the walk to town was quick. Our only issue was the fact that the resort ran out of ice cream and we couldn’t enjoy the delicious ice cream desserts and shakes the last few days of our trip. The food was fresh and delicious although after a week there we wanted other choices. I do think the children’s menu could be upgraded a bit. My daughter had a hard time finding something she liked, she tends to be very picky anyway. The rooms were cute and had beautiful views, a little outdated but clean. It was nice to have air conditioning but could be hard to find a comfortable temp at night. The staff was exceptional, friendly and inviting!

I arranged a romantic getaway to propose to my girlfriend. Ylang Ylang helped me arrange a romantic beach dinner, a couples massage, and gave us the best service ever. Food was amazing, dome room was cozy and lovely, and the grounds were lush and filled with wildlife. Great refreshing pool too!

I absolutely loved staying in the treehouse! Beautiful view down to the beach and very close to nature, loved being immersed in the jungle. The beach is gorgeous and the water was so nice and warm to go swimming. Would definitely come again, thanks for a great time!!

Our little beach cabin was beautiful, exactly as pictured with a lovely view of the crashing waves and visited by assorted birds and lizards as well as coati, agouti and monkeys! The staff were very friendly and accommodating and and the resort is impeccably clean and well maintained. Visitors should know that the road does not go right into the resort; the delightful town of Montezuma is about a 10 minute walk along the beach or a dirt road. Eduardo's tour of Curu was a highlight not to be missed. His expertise in local plants and animals is a rich resource.

Ylang Ylang was delightful. You really feel immersed into nature, but with some luxuries to make your stay comfortable. We stayed in one of their Cabinas. It was small, but for 2 of us, we had enough room. We were thankful for the a/c, and it worked well. It was muggy and hot while we were in Montezuma. The staff are excellent here from the front desk, to the wait staff to the buggy driver - all top notch. We thought the food was very good. We stayed for 4 nights, and there was plenty of variety to eat something different everyday for breakfasts and dinners. We would definitely stay here again if we are in Montezuma. The only thing I would change/add would be more places to sit and lounge with your wonderful ocean view.

The resort location was and room were amazing. We would have stayed another week if we could! You are staying among so much wildlife, and the view of the ocean was the best we've ever had. So many great hikes to go on, stepping right outside our door.

If you are looking for an adventure somewhat off the beaten path this is the place! Setting from our porch we saw monkeys and many other animals. I cannot say enough about the staff. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Food was delicious! we only ate at the restaurant on premises. It was that good. you have several options for rooms. We started in Dome 7 which was quite an hike on an incline. most of the domes are reachable without an incline. The tree house is up high but you would expect that being called the tree house. It does not take away from my 5 star rating but it would be good to note on the website that Dome 6&7 has a steep incline. It would not be a problem for any young person but us being older it was not something we wanted to do several times a day. we did move to a Cabana which was just as nice but on a lower level. The website does state you need a 4x4 to park at the resort. part of the path to the resort is across the beach. we had no issues with a 4x4. The scenery here is beautiful! we also booked 2 tours and a spa treatment. all were excellent! The restaurant grilled our fish and it was perfect. I cannot express enough the welcoming you receive from the staff! THANKS for a great week.
