Where to start to review this hotel? There is so much to say.. Negatives: There is not enough information regarding how things work when you arrive. Oral info after a 24 hrs trip does not stick. We spent the entire week finding out about restaurants, opening hours, shows, custom etc. Hand out written information to guests when they arrive! A wristband is given at check-in. The message is wear at all times, and if you lose you have to pay a fine of 50 USdollars. I am pretty sure that is not legal. The sound level in the restaurants inside and in the lobby is off the charts. Imagine Americans everywhere that shout when the speak while the acoustics make it louder. It is like constantly being at a concert. The hotel sends you on a marketing/sales pitch at the Rose Hall suites telling you you will ha an upgraded breakfast. First of all, the breakfast is MUCH better at our hotel (beach), otherwise the hotels looks exactly the same. They do this sales pitch for two hours and there is at least three people trying to convince you to buy a membership at Iberostar. I have never experienced anything like this - leave people alone when they are on holiday! This is a critisism of the Iberostar company - not of the people working for it. The two inside-restaurants (Italian and Japanese) are not worth a visit. The chef has obviously never been to Italy, and an Italian would be offended by the food(as were we). The Japanese had okay food(not authentic though), but to share a table with 15 Americans that cannot shut up, have poor manners and are constantly drunk, is not our idea of a nice dining experience. You can only withdraw US dollars from ATM. The shop on site is ridiculous. Nothing is priced and we quickly understood why: the prices are off the charts. The whole shop is a total rip-off. Stay out! We were told no room service at this hotel, which is strange because I read that it was room service before we came. The minibar consists of soda and beer. Not everyone drinks soda and beer. Wine should be in the minibar. Positives: The hotel is clean, well-functioning and has a genuine staff. The Jamaican staff is amazing everywhere. They are such a positive, serviceminded and genuinely caring people. The two outside-restaurants are great. The food and service is amazing at both restaurants. The breakfast and lunch is also amazing; high quality food, good service. They should clean tables quicker though. The cleaning of rooms is great. The first night we arrived, the floor was not clean, but all the other days they cleaned it well. The pool area is great and lively. Funny entertainment and life guards on watch. The beach is also nice, but has too much sea**** that should be removed. The drinks are amazing, but watered out. I cannot drink five drinks and not get drunk if they are real drinks. These did not even give me a buzz. With all the drunk Americans around you can only wonder what they took instead/in addition… The balconies
