라 알무니아 델 발레(La Almunia del Valle)

We had the most amazing time only made very special by the owner Patricia who is passionate about her home and her business. We were treated as one of the family and she always asked what she could do to improve. The situation of the hotel is very special with fantastic views over the Sierra Nevada and we spent 3 days, relaxing, walking and generally having a wonderful time. The breakfast in the terrace were special as all the produce was sought locally, With specialty jams, honeys, meats and cheeses. Lovely homemade cakes. Everything you could wish for was here. We are at the hotel every night and the food was Michelin star. We had four courses and every dish was a delight. The staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much. Our room was beautiful and we had a large terrace to sit on. Everything about this place was a piece of heaven and we will be back to take advantage of this beautiful place.

This is the first place I've ever stayed in that feels like true 'home away from home.' We felt so incredibly looked after. Patricia (the owner) and her team have created a calm, tranquil place that was an absolute joy to experience. The highlight has to be the mountain views, the walks in the Sierra Nevada and the home cooked food (the first chef of the week was miles better than the 2nd in our opinion). The thought and level of detail that goes into making this place makes it stand out. It is truly special and unique. The bedrooms and the balcony were also wonderful. The sustainable efforts are another reason to choose this family-run hotel, it's the best way to vote with your wallet when travelling in Spain. Although there are still areas for improvement in terms of sustainability (offering fish and meat everyday is the biggest one) they are clearly one of the leading sustainable hotels in Spain.

We had an incredible stay here!! Staff, accommodations, cleanliness, food were all amazing. Particularly the staff was so kind and welcoming. We stayed in a renovated room and it was perfect for 2 people. And of course the most beautiful views. Would come back here again!

What an amazing place to stay, stunning surroundings, beautifully decorated, the staff are incredibly friendly, the food is sublime. We had the most amazing stay, we left disappointed that our holiday had come to an end

If I could give this place 6 out of 5 I would. It is perfect. A beautiful location with beautiful views. Lovely pool surrounded by green grass and ancient olive trees. Terraces at different levels with old trees and great views across the valley. Comfortable rooms, really helpful and friendly staff. Air on and fans. A green ethos. Amazing food. We stayed for 6 days and ate there every night, it was so delicious. A really small boutique hotel so you feel really at home and looked after. And very cute dogs and cat. What’s more, we went during the heatwave, when Granada was almost unbearable. But it was much cooler up in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Only thing to note is that the road up is quite narrow and the parking quite tight. So if you are hiring a car then go for a smaller one!

I will start with the vibe , Super cool vibe for the hotel , ultra friendly and professional stuff , comfort wise everything is good just get ready to move a little bit , food is spectacular Breakfast not super overwhelming but to the point , dinner is a must tho !! Only minus is the coffee machine because I like very good coffe it was bit bad imo but I give this hotel a 10 for sure !! They even didn’t charge me on the wine we order in the last night , they think about every small detail of your stay !

We spent 4 nights here. It was with our son and his partner and their 4 month old baby. What a welcoming little hotel. They gave us 2 superior rooms together with several areas of private outdoor space near the pool. Beautiful spacious rooms with comfortable beds and excellent air conditioning. It was so hot we hardly left the hotel but the pool area had lots of natural shade and amazing views. It was the perfect place to unwind. The staff were exceptional and at dinner on our first night we all toasted the hotels 21st anniversary. You can tell that many of the staff have been there for most of those years. Patricia the owner runs a great place and she really cares and it shows. We had 2 dinners which were excellent and breakfast was wonderful. A feast for the eyes as well as the stomach! Thank you for looking after us so well. We hope to be back!

I honestly don’t know where to start.. this is just a fabulous place. The hotel itself is very lovely, it is like staying with friends in their home. All of the staff from owner Patricia, to Ari, Ana, Berni, Pablo and the ladies at breakfast went out of their way to make sure that your stay was memorable. It’s small (15 rooms) but has a great pool area with an honesty bar, plenty of loungers and chairs to relax in. We had a terrace room (number 14) which is in a small newer building with stunning views of the mountains and valley. The room had a comfortable king size bed, refrigerator, flat screen television small seating area, huge and powerful shower and an outdoor terrace with seating and table and a couple of relaxing deck chairs.. we had full sun from sunrise until around 7pm, but if it got too hot you have an electric controlled awning that you could put out to create plenty of shade. The breakfast buffet was excellent and elements changed daily so there was always something new to try. Dinner is for hotel guests only and they tell you at breakfast what the evening menu is and you can choose to stay in and enjoy fantastic home cooked food or go out if you choose, doing this avoids waste and adds to the sustainable nature of Almunia del Valle. The view is just stunning… I mean absolutely breathtaking and beautiful..Granada is a 15 minute drive away and you can be on the Costa Tropical in an hour or so drive time. We had a week here and most definitely did not want to leave. We have stayed in luxury hotels all over the world that had more amenities, gym, spa, tennis courts, golf courses etc… but this is firmly in our top handful of hotels that we would most definitely return to… because the people here make it special…

Fabulous hotel, a little Spanish secret that delivers in every way. We came here as part of our 40th Wedding Anniversary celebration and we couldn’t have found a better place to stay, it was perfect in every way.A warm friendly welcoming place where you feel like you have been invited into a private home .A beautiful setting we had a delightful room with our own terrace with a stunning outlook.Patricia and the team attended to our every need and we dined here for most of our 4 night stay because the food was delicious. Remote in its location is part of the attraction but perfectly situated to explore on foot or by car. Everything was just perfect and if we could we would give it 11 out of 10 because it was simply one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in . Thank you La Almunia
