바르셀로 카보 데 가타(Barcelo Cabo de Gata Hotel)

The hotel itself is amazing but: - Shower door did not close properly and therefore we got "floods" everyday in the toilet. - Mosquitos: I do understand that we are in a "wild" enviroment but it was amazing every time we open the curtain of the terrace how were falling many mosquitos. During the night, going to the toilet was an expirience as well. Too many mosquitos...they should try to do something with this. - Meals: they do not include beverage, its normal until you are charged 3'5€ for an opened bottle of water when they should serve or at least give the option to have it for free since the law says that. - Checkin: the girl of the counter just told us, "hey scan this QR code and everything is explained", why shall I download an app of the hotel? is it so hard to explain just in few second all the activities of the hotel? - Breakfast: Bakery quality worse than any other hotel I tried... Speaking about amenities hotel is perfect, big pools, nice decoration, buffet was ok and it has direct access to the beach. Its a pity that the service is not at Barcelo level standards.

We appreciated that our room was spacious and had a nice view. After parking our car it was not easy to find the elevators to get up to reception. You must find a narrow door (that looks like an emergency exit) and is poorly labelled (grey print on white background) in a poorly lit area. We had trouble getting our room warm enough. We ordered room service but it was delivered without the plates covered so our food was not hot. Breakfast had some vegan options but we had to ask for soy milk. The cook was very kind and made us a special plate of cooked vegetables. All the staff were very friendly and patient as I practiced my poor Spanish. The building needs some maintenance.

The service from your staff was excellent and how clean every think was and in good quality. The rooms were big and the beds in the room were good to rest and to sleep in and they gave you a good sleep.

MUY DECEPCIONADA Y ENFADADA.TENEIS PUBLICIDAD ENGAÑOSA SOBRE LA PISCINA CLIMATIZADA. TENIA QUE HABER PUESTO HOJA DE RECLAMACIOMES QUE NO PUSE PORQUE LOS TRABAJADORES ME DIJERON QUE ES UN MITO LO DEL AGUA CALIENTE....MI HIJA DE 4 AÑOS SE VOLVIO MUY TRISTE Y SIN PODER BAÑ****. A pesar de que el hotel está bien , caro, pero bien, el parking es caro pero hay aparcamiento al lado, el buffet es poco variado pero buena comida , y el desayuno si es estupendo, y las habitaciones muy bien no falta detalle en el baño , y una cafetera en la misma habitación, la habitación me a sorprendido para bien, buena limpieza, buen olor. A pesar de eso , salgo decepcionada, y no volveré al hotel, porque el hotel dice tener una piscina climatizada en el exterior, cuando llamas para preguntar que es una piscina climatizada en el exterior te dicen k si que está en el exterior pero k el agua esta más caliente que la calientan con no se que, una bomba de calor o algo asi, y aseguran k la gente se baña , mentira, la piscina no es para nada climatizada, el agua está fría y no se calienta con nada, como bien dicen , está en el exterior, y fría como las otras , con la única diferencia que es más bajita al tener menos agua si le da el sol se calentará antes pero si no le da el sol , el agua está congelada y por ejemplo no te puedes meter en abril, la piscina vacía,normal, y todo el mundo se acercaba a tocar el agua porque como ami , nos dijeron que es climatizada ,yo y mucha gente llegamos a ponernos el biquini y acercarnos pensando que nos podíamos meter, pero es imposible el agua congelada en abril. No tiene piscina cubierta ni climatizada, lo que tiene es un spa que se paga aparte.

A very comfortable hotel situated in a quiet area. Excellent food, friendly staff and comfortable room. We stayed for two nights and had a very relaxed time. Being slightly out of season there was only one small pool open and the Spa was closed during our stay. Overall, very satisfied.

A large room, with nespresso machine and nice balcony and see view. Very friendly staff at the reception. The buffet was good with pleanty of foods . The breakfast was ok. Parking for 15 EUR under to the hotel. A great location to see the beautiful sunset and ja lot of nice and lovely villages.

We had a premium sea view room,rooms are spacious and hotel very clean.The pool area and the hotel grounds are great and very well kept.Outside of the hotel we were surprised that some of the local bars and restaurants in Retamar were still open mid October.Yes the hotel is very Spainsh,we speak some Spanish and had no problem communicating with the staff who were friendly and helpful( and most spoke some English).Sometimes as other reviews have stated the food could be warmer-there isn't a massive range of food on offer in the buffet at breakfast or dinner, but it was ok overall.Evening meal doesnt start till 8 pm which is not uncommon in Spain-we didnt find this a problem.There isnt much to do outside of the hotel -there is a local bus which we used to go into Almeria itself. Almeria has only a few places worth visiting

Our third stay at this hotel totalling 10 weeks over a period of years. Hotel room, pool area, gardens and staff are excellent hence our return, unfortunately this many be our last as the food was a great disappointment.We Cheap food , meat full of bone and so tough you can not cut it let alone eat it, plastic like burgers even. If you are using cheap products if cooked well they can work well. No fresh orange juice just cheap chemical tasting impersonations that leave an after taste. The same type of fruit for every meal, cheap and often very small portion for pudding. The salad bar was in fact the best option. I do not like to give negative reviews but feel on this occasion it is deserved as I agree with other reviews.

Spent 3 days in the hotel during the winter motorcycle testing camp and was very satisfied with the services received. It was the second time after the first visit in 2022 and the quality still remains on the high level.
