To whom it may concern. Impressions of our stay at Maritim Hotel Balaclava. 13th to 15th November 2024. Some time ago, I happened to bump into Yashvin Awootar. During the course of our conversation, Yashvin was all praise for the hotel where he works, a mindset quite natural, I thought, because the hotel, after all, is his employer. Since Yashvin's words rang a bell in my ears, my wife and I thought, why not give it a try? The long entrance with its swathes of verdently tropical vegetation along with the sprawling beaches, all seemed to conspire to prove Yashvin right, promising a quiet and cosy retreat. The welcome extended to us at the reception desk was heartwarming, with the staff going out of their way to make us feel at home. Our room was well set with its cosy 'patio', fringed with greenery. The small snag at the level of the bathroom lock was promptly attended to by the maintenance department. Concerning the food and its variety, along with the positive attitude of the servers, all helped to make of the experience a delightful one. However, the only streak of dark cloud in an otherwise absolutely bright sky was the presence of dogs and cats which roamed around freely in the compound and hardly hesitating to dare come near the dining tables.
