The staff makes everything possible to make your stay the most special experience. Matera is a unique place that we hope will manage to conserve its uniqueness and cultivated way of tourisme and this despite all the visitors emerging every day.

I loved my 2 night stay. The staff is excellent: Friendly and accommodating. The breakfast is yummy with lots of options. The room was charming and I felt as if I were surrounded by history. The property is beautiful, clean, and walkable. The surrounding restaurants are excellent. I wanted to bring my dogs, but seemed to be too much trouble. Although once I arrived I wish I had. I advise using the resorts shuttle and garage service; it is pricey but saves a lot of time and trouble of lugging your things around. I would have love a workout room/gym, and a spa/massage service on the property would have been perfect. I very much enjoyed the services I received from Beatrice, Linda and Dominico. I will be back!

We loved our 3 night stat at this hotel. The rooms were lovely and spotlessly clean. The bathrooms are amazing with a suction glass door that makes the most satisfying spaceship sound. The spa shower, super soft robes and cool showers lighting made this bathroom our favourite in our 3 week Italy vacation. The breakfast was delicious every day. The staff were wonderful. Shout out to the breakfast room staff. They went above and beyond for our group everyday. Linda, Bet ( I cannot remember her name) and I believe the gentlemen's name was Dominic. They were all great and very professional. We ate at Puid Sud ( OK pizza) one night and at Kieve another night. Kieve was very good.

Hotel was lovely. A great location, probably the best you can get. Fantastic room and spotlessly clean. All staff (with the exception of senior management) were very friendly and couldn’t do more to help. We booked the hotel partly for the stunning roof terrace and we’re really excited to have a drink up there on arrival. The barman however had to negotiate for us to sit on the terrace as a photographer and senior management team were taking photos and made it very clear were not happy about us being there; specifying where we should sit (no problem) and then standing between us and the view - despite not taking any photos. Unfortunately it ruined our first impressions of the hotel.

This was very special place that we stayed for 6 nites. Our suite was beautiful with details for our comfort. Breakfast delivered to our room each morning by a cheerful Yvonne. She made our stay the best. Great location for seeing the neighborhoods

Wonderful beautiful place with top-notch service! The rooms are so comfortable, the lounge is special, and breakfast is delicious! The front desk reception (Elionista - spelling?) was super helpful with directions, reservations and more. The lovely (blonde) woman who helped us with technology issues was always a smiling, welcoming presence. This is a very special place in an excellent location!

There are so many cave living hotel/b&b in Matera, difficult to choose. Glad that we chose Pianelle. Its location is perfect to explore the town and many dining places within 10 minutes of walk. This place is relatively new and rooms are spacious and modern with essential furnishings to keep the characters of cave. Services were very attentive especially when we were the only group staying. We chose it because it has a secured parking lot just out side of the old town and provides shuttle service without worrying the safety and strolling luggages, although the daily rate is a bit high Love our stay

The resort room is fantastic and the service is superb. Front desk communicated with us about the parking options the day before our arrival, and also helped us with taxi booking and sightseeing suggestions. Definitely will come back again!

The resort was unbelievable. The staff was very helpful and courteous. The room was impeccable and so comfortable. The area is perfect for exploring Matera. They also arranged for parking and transfer to the hotel which was so helpful. I highly recommend staying here.
