Although obvious attempts have been made to update this
property, it remains an old Victorian with some issues. Water running above our room was very loud. The tub in our bath was an old jetted model that had seen better days. There should be grab bars for entering and exiting the tub. The room was bare-bones. Utilitarian for sure, but no attempt at luxury. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise with fresh fruit and homemade blueberry bread. The young man at the desk in the morning was not friendly at all. He was rather sullen, but did perk up a bit when we left. We are former Marblehead residents and this was our first hotel stay in the town. We would probably try somewhere else next time, but if this was all that was available, it would do.
