엘 푸에르테 마르베야(El Fuerte Marbella)

The hotel has undergone an extensive renovation and now is absolutely first class. Having stayed many times previously we noted that some of the charm and character of the hotel has been lost but compensated by the new modern styling. The hotel is excellently placed for the beach and the old town. Previously the hotel had sun loungers on the beach but they weren’t there this visit. We stayed in a jacaranda selected room which was extremely stylish and comfortable with front sea views. The selected option allows access between 11-9 to an area where complimentary snacks and drinks are available. There is inside and outside seating and provides a pleasant area to enjoy the sun and relax. Breakfast in the selected area was relaxed and buffet was substantial. Bar food was excellent too. The staff were in the main very helpful, knowledgeable and polite with unfortunately a few who were less helpful. Overall very impressed and hope to return soon.

This is the best hotel that I’ve ever stayed at in Europe! It’s a top top 5* hotel! Everything’s was close to perfect! The place was so clean at all times, staff were fantastic, and breakfast was great. The pool areas are amazing! Huge comfy loungers, and waiter service around the pool. We paid £2200 for 4 nights so it wasn’t cheap, and even a Diet Coke is £4, but it’s worth it for the setting and service. The guy at the pool bar with the lint tail was brilliant, and Juan Manuel was great at check in and check out with our luggage. We can’t wait to return

My wife and I have watched the refurbishment of this hotel while staying previously at the Amare, owned I’m certain by the same company, so thought we’d try El Fuerte this time and we’re very pleased we did! The hotel is beautifully furnished and decorated, but equally as important the staff are almost without exception very friendly, welcoming and helpful. We opted for room and breakfast, the breakfast choice was varied and of a high quality but not just quite up to the standard of the Amare, but that’s being picky. Our only other minor criticism would be the (few) children allowed in the adult only swimming pool, I fully appreciate that this is the only 1 of the 4 pools that are heated but it was irritating, this is possibly not an issue later in the season when the other pools have been heated by the sun. Overall we had a great time and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel.

The hotel is absolutely amazing location service and cleanliness is second to none and the staff are very accommodating at all times and very helpful the standard of the rooms and furnishings around the hotel are of good taste and our overhaul experience is making us want to keep going back Dean&Rachel from Chorkey 👍😂

We have just come back from a short Honeymoon break. We were amazed by everything this hotel has to offer!! Staff were soo attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The attention to detail that has gone into this hotel is simply incredible. We upgraded to a side seat view and this did not disappoint. Thank you soo much for making memories for us.

We visited El Fuerte 10 years ago before its refurbishment. It was a lovely hotel then, but has definitely gone up a level now. It has everything a five star hotel should have: impeccable service, beautiful grounds and excellent food. The manager, Maria, was fantastic and went above-and-beyond to make our stay memorable.

We were warmly welcomed in to this hotel on arrival by a member of the professional and helpful reception staff. Having previously stayed in a hotel with poor service it was a joy to be here, all of the staff are incredibly helpful and go out of their way to assist guests in anyway possible. The weather was atrocious for our visit but we still managed to get out and about and to visit the places we wanted to, the sun even came out briefly when we went to Porta Banus! The hotel itself is stunning, the room was modern and beautifully refurbished. There is a fantastic choice for breakfast of both hot and cold dishes and an endless choice of pastries which somehow I managed to make my way though. Despite the weather we had a good time but we are intending to return when/if the summer starts,

After a big refurb, El Fuerte has opened as a 5 star in the epicenter of Marbella. Situated on the sea side of the highway, on the promenade, El Fuerte is across the road from the old town. Lovely rooms, beautifully designed public spaces, a great breakfast and super service from the Spanish team. Highly recommended

We have visited Marbella for the last few years staying at a nearby well known 5 star Hotel,which we have always enjoyed. For the last couple of years we watched with interest as the well known El Fuerte was being transformed into its new 5 star status. We booked for mid March for 10 days in a front facing sea view Select room . The hotel is absolutely excellent and we had a wonderful stay enhanced by perfect spring weather. The location of the hotel is perfect for us, step out of the front entrance and you are almost directly in the lovely old town. Leave from the garden area and you are straight on the promenade perfect for a walk at any time of day. The accommodation was excellent and had everything we needed, with special mention of the Japanese style toilet..amazing. The gardens and outside space was extensive and beautifully maintained.. The hotel has thoughtfully retained some of the older features, how often in a modern hotel do you find a lovely library. The additional benefits of the Select section were more than we had expected and worth the additional expenditure. Others have mentioned the Breakfast and it is outstanding with almost too many choices . Once again being Select was beneficial with a separate dining area and additional menu choices. The true stars of the hotel for us were the staff. We never saw a member of staff at whatever level who did not speak to us . It is so difficult to single out individuals but Jose in the Select lounge was a shining light and definitely missed when on his day off. Also Rosa who served the wonderful fruit in the breakfast buffet was a delight. Will we return ?....in a heartbeat, we feel we have found a new home on the Costa del Sol.
