타랑기레 소파 로지(Tarangire Sopa Lodge)

The lodge is in the middle of a national park which meant that hot water was only available in the mornings and evenings. The accommodations were good considering where you were. The main lodge was excellent along with the food. The staff was also incredible. What made the place great was that animals were everywhere! After dark a staff member had to walk us to our room to ensure our safety. It was like being dropped in the middle of a safari!

Really lovely surprise in the heart of Tarangire National Park. Helpful and accommodating staff. Lovely room. The room was sprayed with a mosquito repellent when the bed was turned down. There is a huge communal lounge area with tv and a bar. The restaraunt has a lovely wrap around balcony.

Last but not least on the brink of ending our safari trip through the northern Tanzania, the Sopa Lodge at the Tarangire national park was like the crème de la crème on our safari dessert. The interior design of the lobby and dining areas are stunning. Service exceptional welcoming and the food tasty. The Lodge surrounded by wilderness and mammals entering the property, inviting the visitors to enjoy viewing while having breakfast. Unfortunately, our time of one night stay was short and we regret we could not stay longer. Extremely welcoming staff, and with impromptu great singing by the wait staff. Monkey, dik-diks, and hyraxes make the grounds extra fun for a stroll, with a "Jambo" from every non-tourist you pass. Accommodations and food all very good, indoor and out.

Nice place to stay in Tarangire. Room is clean. Food is good. The singing and dancing at dinner has really created some a**osphere which helps relaxing after a day's drive. Especially impressed by the large balcony in the lobby which is great for sunset photos.

I was surprised to discover that most people spend only one night here. Big Mistake. This is a very comfortable facility in the middle of a greatly under-rated National Park, and both are worth a few days' visit. The lodge is quite luxurious, with very comfortable rooms, all the amenities, a great pool, and the most amazing staff ever. The park covers a lot of area and several different ecosystems. We stayed three days and there were still areas we didn't get to, and we always enjoyed returning to the Sopa for a great meal and a relaxing afternoon-evening.

We have stayed at this SOPA lodge many times, and it always feels the same. The lodge is devoid of glitz and glamor. Instead, it offers a place that is a welcoming place, good for relaxing and resting between game drives and long journeys. The staff are very friendly and they remember us each time we return. The rooms are spacious and quite elegantly decorated, each with a balcony overlooking the pool and the hillside dotted with baobab trees. The buffet-style meals are very generous and varies, with the actual quality of the food being superior. A highlight of our stay is the buffet lunch served poolside, a delicious feast of salads and grilled meats with vegetables, and desserts. The main dining room is large and spacious, and the lounge areas are extensive, meaning that one can always find a quiet corner if you desire to. We have stayed at more expensive, "exclusive" lodges in the area, but we actually prefer this SOPA lodge for all of the reasons stated above. Give it a try, you'll like it too.

What a spectacular hotel. It is an oasis in the middle of the amazing Tarangire National park. All starts with the rural gate and the welcoming by Dik-Dik, monkeys and Hyraxes. The lobby is very spacious and made with eco materials, amazing wood carvings. It is an open concept with windows everywhere where one can see the elephants, buffalos and all sort animals approaching the water hole located behind and the waterfall under the building. Obviously, there are signs outside warning people to don’t cross to avoid encounter with animals. There is a bar, a free coffee/tea area and the pool is very welcoming. There are several instructions to follow, for example the times when hot water will be available and the fact that no one should be walking at night by themselves without a proper security escort, and also to keep door always closed because the monkeys and other animals will try to get in the rooms. There are whistles in all the rooms in case of emergency and there are plenty of guards outside the rooms, ready to help and walk people back and forth. Internet is available only by the pool and at the main lobby building. The beds had a mosquito net, and the rooms have a balcony with a window facing the wilderness. The mealtimes were the most fun and plentiful. We ate BBQ by the pool and breakfast and dinner at the main building where there was a singing performance and got to meet exceptional singers like Margaret. I wish I remember everyone's names, but Goodluck and the bartenders were also very friendly with us. They also prepare for us a BBQ lunch outside the property, which was amazing!

We arrived at lunchtime and so went quickly to our room and then to lunch . Lunch was BBQ served around the pool lovely setting with plenty of shade. We were greeted by a very friendly member of staff I think her name was Margaret but not sure, she also sang in the evening at dinner and she’s got an amazing voice, the staff put on a fantastic performance at dinner it really was wonderful , the staff seem to be very happy. Our room was basic but fine for us, we stayed just the one night. There were plenty of choices at both breakfast and dinner you certainly don’t go hungry We enjoyed our stay and the National park
