We stayed here for one night following a flight cancellation. I picked this hotel as other Crowne Plaza hotels I've stayed at have been very good and the website said they had recently been refurbished. This one was a disappointment - while the bedroom was nicely decorated there was a draught from the window that would have cut you in two! There was an electric heater plugged in when we arrived and I assume that was because of the draught. The room was crowded with unnecessary furniture, like an easy chair which had to be moved to get into bed, and a round table. (there was a desk with ample room for the amenities so these 'extras' only made the room cramped. The bathroom had not been upgraded, with rust stains round the bath taps. The hotel was very quiet so I'm sure we could have had a better room, unless they all require a plug-in radiator for the draughty windows. We had dinner and breakfast which were fine, standard hotel fare. There is also a £3.40 charge per person for a shuttle bus to the terminal - most airport hotels offer this as a complimentary service. We paid £140 room only and could have stayed at the nearby Doubletree or Clayton for less - luckily the airline has refunded us as had I paid that amount for the room here I would not have been happy. I won't be back that's for sure. The only positive here were the staff, everyone was very friendly and welcoming.
