Kernos Beach Hotel & Bungalows

This is a beautiful complex. Older in some areas, but offer all the amenities you'd want. The beach is lovely, and no fighting for a chair and parasol, it comes with your room. They also supply beach towels. The buffet is extensive, well labeled and diverse in their offerings. The staff have been amazing and helpful. The rooms have been updated with new modern fixtures. The only miss, is the fact that there are no hooks for a robe or towel in the washroom. Otherwise this is a really nice spot. It is 2.5 hours from Chania, so factor that in if you want to go do some cultural site seeing.

We had an amazing holiday here with my sons for a week. Brilliant, clean, well equipped hotel, nice room, lovely people, great food. Everyone was very kind and helpful from the minute we’ve arrived until our departure. Excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner with fresh local and continental food varied every day. All this with a seaview and very kind service. Great tennis court, gym, mini market, pools, bar and a perfect sandy beach. I would definitely recommend to everyone going on a holiday in Crete.

I am writing this review, since I was surprised when checked tripadvisor and saw that last review was in 2022. Kernos beach hotel is very good hotel with 4 stars. Pluses: 1. Very delicious food 2. Receptionists 3. Beach and sea Minuses: I couldn't find anything bad in this hotel. For 4 stars hotel it is really nice.

We stayed for 2 weeks at the Kernos Beach and loved it! Wonderful hotel, the location is beautiful, directly by the sea, with an amazing vegetation. Our room, a suite with terrace, was very comfortable, spacious, modern and clean. There are 3 very nice swimming pools and a beautiful long beach with lots of space. The food at the buffet was excellent with great variety and a super team led by Chef Sideris. The staff are all lovely, smiling and very efficient. A big thank you to Georgos and his great team of wonderful waiters, especially Sonia and Maria and all their colleagues, who were always smiling, warm and very pleasant. The reception team was very helpful and friendly, a big thank you to Goumas and his team for their help and advice for renting a car or visiting the island. Last but not least, we would like to thank the manager Mr. Kostas for his discreet presence and his availability. We definitely recommend this hotel which has very much to offer to families, couples or friends. We look forward to coming back!

One of the most beautiful hotel resorts we have ever visited! Very close to the sea, hotel even has own pools which are huge, so we enjoyed not only the sea but the pools too. Food -the best I have ever experienced! A huge variety of meals every single day plus…. amazing hotel staff, very friendly and nice people there, especially Cheff of the restaurant :) Rooms and whole resort is very clean with wonderful little streets or paths with amazing flowers and plants. Not far from the hotel, there are other restaurants, cafeterias, bars so you can visit the centre of Malia and buy souvenirs too. We loved the vacation there, hopefully we will visit it in the future again. We recommend it definitely! And we send greetings from Slovakia to people we met there ;) Thanks for great services.

I visited Kernos beach for their spa massage. It was amazing!! The people there were very friendly and smiley, Gave me the best quality massage!! I would definitely go again, after that I was feeling so much better!!

Early August this year, have spent one week at Kernos Beach Hotel. On the whole we have enjoyed or stay. It's a lovely place with a private beach. The restaurant did the best to offer varied food and the meals are served on terraces, which was very nice. However, there are a few negative points as well, we like to highlight. - During the period we have stayed, the Hotel was overbooked. So if you choose a superior room with sea sight view, we might not get it. - There was a shortage of staff and that is why we have had to ask for towel changes because and that not happened always. - Number of sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach are not aligned with tourist requests and some of them are worned. - Apart from the sea side view rooms located in the main building at first and second floor, all the other rooms require to close the window during the night and sleep with the conditioning air.

Advantages: * 1 min walk to the beach, clean and comfortable, showers, beach chairs and umbrellas present * clean swimming pool with warm water, good for times when tides are too strong in the sea * clean spacious room with air conditioner, private balcony, we were lucky wifi worked good in our room too, heavenly flowers and trees * amazing personnel, starting with receptionist, to the other hotel staff and the porter, the cook was sharp witted and always full of jokes, restaurant's manager was escorting guests in-person, the cleaning personnel were kindly-hearted and ready to help too * the buffet was smorgasbord type, with practically unlimited food, full with different types of meals, fruits, yogurts, cakes, cookies and everything else * coffee is served for breakfast, the personnel always offers a refill * good evening dj, such a fun party was organized * taxis and public transportation were comfortable to use Disadvantages: * drinking water problem: no water coolers in building * water that costs 0.50 € at the store costs 3.00 € at this hotel's restaurant *! extremely rude waitress with curly blonde hair: my grandma carries a small bottle of water with her due to her age. During dinner I got an empty water glass that she'd be comfortable drinking her water bottle's from it. This waitress came, insisted we buy a new bottle, hide ours and to the answer "no thank you we already have water", she aggressively took the glass away. With her temper I guess we should be glad she didn't splash the water on my face. Greek mythology's evil spirits embodiment lol, what even was that!!! Shocking experience, that is definitely NOT the way how you treat a customer. * drinking water, juice and coffee served for breakfast only, no drop of liquid served for the dinner * wifi works only in a very limited area * 20 mins walk till Malia's centre on foot Overall, I do recommend, a great place to be, we had a pleasant and never to be forgotten stay at Kernos Beach hotel!

We came for vacation, with our new friends, to our favorite Kernos, first trip after Corona. The view from the bungalow is breathtaking, as always ,the staff is familiar and polite the food is very good. But… a new era blows now in Kernos. The huge gardens are impeccably cared, fresh flowers adorn the once colorless and hazy reception. The neatness of the stone paths,surroundings ,all over the hotel is now on 5*!! The furniture , still a bit old but at least now shine clean and tidy. The astonish beach is without rubbish and the way along to our room has become an enjoyable walk. Mrs Olga the new hotel manager is a real gem !!She is everywhere with a true smile and a strong will to assist anyone. Unfortunately nothing changed to the restaurant….The supervisor still has a fake smile on his face ,excessively friendly to particular repeater guests for his own benefit, on many ways…Indecorous for this great restaurant team!! Unreservedly suggest Kernos beach and will be back next year.Great staff great vacation!
