My two-day stay at this hotel, driven by a local conference, turned out to be rather unfortunate. Unaware of the neighborhood's less favorable reputation in Macon, I was initially impressed by the hotel's outward appearance. However, the surroundings were marred by neglect, with abandoned structures, caution tape, plywood, and graffiti abounding, accompanied by a constant presence of individuals who raised concerns. While the hotel deserves some credit for maintaining its own exterior, the interior left much to be desired. The pool was out of order, and the fitness center, though open, was plagued by water damage, a strong mold and mildew odor, and subpar equipment. My stay in a business executive suite was underwhelming, essentially featuring an uninviting couch, a small, barely visible TV, and bed sheets in dire need of replacement. My check-in experience was also unsatisfactory, as the staff seemed preoccupied, initially neglecting me for several minutes. Even when I returned later to reactivate my key, another front desk representative was socializing with a friend. The most off-putting incident occurred during breakfast, where a staff member persistently shouted ”good morning” at me, despite my initial greeting. When I informed her that I had already greeted her and didn't need repeated reminders, she offered no apology. This experience was nothing short of terrible. I am a founder-level Wyndham timeshare owner and a Diamond-level hotel guest, but I can confidently say that I will never return to this location when visiting Macon. The hotel's amenities and staff left much to be desired, and it seems like a corporate visit from Wyndham or La Quinta is necessary to hold the franchise owner accountable. This establishment falls short of the expectations set by the Wyndham app, and I regret not heeding the other negative Google reviews. Hopefully, my review will spare someone else a similarly disappointing experience, encouraging them to seek accommodations elsewhere.
