호텔 모누멘토 파조 데 오르반(Hotel Monumento Pazo de Orban)

This hotel is a historic building recently restored. Comfortable with modern and spacious bathrooms, elevator to all room (except for the exceptional attic on the third floor). Located in the center of the city, but accesible by car and including a parking lot, you can walk through pedestrian-only streets to visit the city: cathedral, mitreo, casa de los mosaicos, plaza de España, San Pedro, etc. You can wake up in the morning and run on the +2000 year old Roman Wall, then take a shower with views of the cathedral, and the enjoy a breakfast with local cheese and cakes. You can go in 5 minutes to the area called “Calle de los Vinos” and enjoy drinks and free tapas walking from bar to bar. You can walk to the best restaurants in the center of Lugo, and not worry about driving back to the hotel. The hotel is a combination of modern utilities with a decoration including a selection of antiques that make you feel like living in a museum.

The room was large and the bathroom spectacular.The bed mattresses were like sleeping on a cloud and the bed linens were of high quality as were the towels and toiletries.The hotel common area were a collectors dream in a very tasteful way although some might find the mannequins creepy. The breakfast buffet had the best selection of quality cheese at least ten or more and many different meats definitely the best breakfast in our three weeks in Spain. Best of all Maria at reception was the friendliest host of all our hotels and the gardener showed how much he loves plants with his tender care of the many trees and plants decorating the entrants and ally.The owners are very lucky to have these two people on staff. Loved this hotel and if you want a day of rest from the Camino book two nights here and enjoy Lugo.

This is a lovely hotel, whose quirkiness is just the right side of kitsch. We had terrible trouble finding it, but it was certainly worth persevering. Thankfully we had reserved a parking space, because cars aren't allowed in the walled city otherwise. Lugo is a wonderful city, with complete Roman city walls. One can walk everywhere, and this hotel is the perfect base. We will return to Lugo, and to this hotel.

This was another great hotel and the woman on reception was lovely, friendly and helpful. The hotel has been renovated and the rooms have beautiful antique furniture in them and the whole hotel is full of wonderful treasures. The room was large and had a lovely big comfortable bed. The bathroom was huge. There was a safe and fridge. The aircon struggled and we had to turn it down to the lowest setting. Lots of natural light in the room and wonderful views from all the windows too. It is very close to the old wall and you can see people walking around it. Close to restaurants, sights and was perfect. They have a restaurant, but we ate out for breakfast. It is inside the old town, but it does have secure parking next to the hotel.

Cuidado con las reservas en este hotel Admiten anulaciones con siete días de antelación, en mi caso la anulación se hizo con 6 dias y 14 horas es decir solo unas horas después del plazo. Me confirman la anulación y cual es mi sorpresa que horas después me cargan 165 € de la habitación sin habermelo dicho cuando llame por teléfono para anular ni en el correo que me solicitaron Me pongo en contacto con la persona responsable y le solicito que ya que han hecho el cargo en cuenta mantengan la reserva, a lo que me dice que no, que al haberse anulado por la mañana ya no se puede guardar la habitación y que debo hacer una nueva reserva. Todo esto faltando todavía 6 días para la fecha de reserva. El trato desde ese momento por parte del responsable fue despectivo prepotente y chulesco llegando incluso a colgarme el teléfono, parece mentira que puedan tener a una persona así en atención al cliente. En este hotel está claro que utilizan las cancelaciones para lucr**** y como una fuente más de ingreso( hay quejas parecidas a ésta en los foros y en tripadvisor) pues sin lugar a duda la habitación que me correspondiera, 6 días después estaría ocupada con el consiguiente ingreso extra, debe ser habitual por la familiaridad con la que tratan el problema. Viajo habitualmente por trabajo y nunca me habia pasado esto con ninguna cancelación, si reservan en este hotel que sea con cancelación gratuita.

Personal muy amable, y muy buen punto el tener disponibilidad de aparcar el coche al lado del mismo hotel, PERO: Siendo una suite esperaba tener la típica estancia a parte de la cama, cosa que no teníamos en la habitación. Era una habitación doble grande. Lo que me lleva al siguiente punto negativo de la suite. Si vas con críos y pides la suite para tener más espacio, pues mejor reserva en otra parte, porque estaréis todos en la misma estancia. Además, la decoración de la habitación digamos que no era muy para todos los públicos 😅 Los amenities del baño se limitaban a tres botes con champú, gel y crema. Sin albornoces. Y, otra cosa que sueles tener cuando reservas suite, que es el típico detalle de bienvenida en la habitación y el minibar incluído, en este hotel ni lo uno ni lo otro. En definitiva, aunque el personal del hotel es súper amable y atento, no creo que repita.
