Tulip Hotel Namtha

I can’t say that it was the best hotel we had ever stayed at but we certainly had a nice stay at the Tulip hotel. At first sight it felt a little be out of place with the play park for the children , the restaurant and bar and the huge house. But then it all works well. The staff is absolutely fantastic and went out of their way to make our stay as easy and pleasant as they could. Nothing was too much or too complicated. Loved the lunch /dinner menu in the restaurant, food is local and fresh. Prices are very reasonable. Free bicycles and scooters are available for rent at 8usd for 1/2 day. So quite good value. The rooms are very spacious and beds comfortable. TV had Netflix and YouTube if you want to watch TV. Beautiful large windows with an amazing view over the fields and mountains (1st floor). The bathroom could however have been a little cleaner as there was rust and chipping tiles. The shower get was empty and wasn’t replenished and also the towels have definitely seen better days. Other than that, it was a brilliant stay, we definitely recommend if you’re planning to visit luang Namtha.

The stay is located far from the city center. They rent bicycles, but the number is limited, so it is first come, first served. The ride to the town center takes about 30 minutes and goes through the highway, which is not ideal. They also offer motorbike rentals for about $8 USD for half a day. If you plan to eat outside the hotel, be aware that other dining options are quite far away. On the plus side, they offer a shuttle service to the bus station for 50,000 KIP per trip. The car can fit two people. If you have a tour planned with a pickup, this place could work well for you. Otherwise, keep the transportation and location challenges in mind.

Worth the money

Non sono assolutamente d'accordo con chi ha dato fin'ora voti così bassi senza alcun senso. La camera è ampia, pulita, letto molto comodo e il ragazzo che gestisce la struttura è disponibile per qualsiasi cosa in tutte le ore. È vero che l'hotel è appena fuori dal centro ma vi ci accompagnano quando volete per poco. Una buona colazione, ma il servizio è la ciliegina sulla torta. BRAVI.
