Such a lovely trip with friends! Katie from the management team was especially helpful getting us all set up and helping to accommodate allergies and whatever else we needed! The rooms are tidy and fun. Definitely vintage and yet with all the modern accoutrements we needed. We especially enjoyed the welcome wine every night at 5 (who wouldn’t!?!) and the spectacular views from the patio. There is a lovely great room with games and a fireplace and a great meal is just a short walk down to the port! We highly highly recommend this spot for the kitschy and adventurous. Fancy folks might want to stay put in Avalon. We have traveled extensively in our lifetime with and without our kids. For us it’s a couples trip and a family trip FAVORITE!

We discovered this little slice of paradise 15 years ago, and it has been our favorite getaway ever since. In fact, we just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary here over the past few days! We’ve always preferred a peaceful, rural setting to the hustle and bustle of city life, and Two Harbors offers exactly that. The Banning House Lodge is a charming historic bed and breakfast, not overly luxurious, but full of character. The staff is genuinely friendly and attentive, which makes every stay special. We especially love starting our mornings with the delicious breakfast on the patio overlooking the harbor, and winding down in the evenings with the complimentary wine and cheese. Russ and his team go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. The property and rooms are always spotless, and the shuttle service is just a quick call away, ready to whisk you down the hill and back after a fun day exploring. It’s truly a place that keeps us coming back year after year.

I have stayed at the Banning House about a dozen times over the past 4 years. We try to make 2-3 trips there each year. Banning house is a fabulous place and Russ and his team go out of their way to make visitors feel welcome, at home and comfortable. Banning house is the only place I have ever been to where you can see a beautiful view of one of the most scenic harbors in the world by looking east. You can then turn around 180 degrees, look west and have an equally amazing harbor view. On our last visit, we came back from a boat raft-up right at the close of the wine and cheese hour. Instead of saying sorry you missed it, the staff asked if we would like them to put together a cheese and fruit tray for us to enjoy. We sat on their charming veranda and enjoyed the sunset with good friends and great snacks. It was truly memorable. The hotel is charming and nostalgic and brings you back to a simpler time. Its roots go back to the early days of the island and that charm holds true to this day.

From pick up at the dock upon arrival, to check in, wine and cheese hour, and breakfast daily, every interaction with the team at Banning House was top notch. The hotel sits high above Two Harbors with a breathtaking view. Our room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. Specific call outs to Russ, Brynn, and Katie for making our stay special and providing a feeling of home. Thank you and looking forward to our next trip out!

We stayed at in the crows nest and had the best time! The staff is amazing and made our stay so memorable. Everyone was always willing to go above and beyond to make sure we were spoiled. They were also very knowledgeable about the island and reccomended some really great activities while we were there. Trip was 💯and we can’t wait to come back. Thanks to everyone!!!!
