호텔 발네아리오 라 헤르미다(Hotel Balneario la Hermida)

I love the mountain views, spacially at 10 in the morning from the hot steam cave pool.

I stayed in this hotel one night ago with the expectation of staying in a four star hotel as rated in your *********** listing. The location of the hotel is spectacular with scenic views of the mountains. The building itself is lovely and spending time in the spa area was also very relaxing. The hotel is rated as a four star and their prices are a reflection of that rating. However, this hotel is hardly a three star mainly because of the rundown state of the furnishings and lack of cleanliness in the room and spa area. In the room there was a broken frame and visibly damaged table. In the bathroom there was a broken glass shelf and there was grime in every bottom corner of the bath and shower. Some of the large glass panes in the spa were clean while others were encrusted with deposits to the point that you could not see through them and made them look grimy and dirty. I don't believe that this hotel in its current state should be rated any higher than 2.5 or 3 stars and the hotel prices should also be adjusted to such reality. Not doing so would be a misrepresentation of this hotel to patrons that make a booking at this hotel. I informed the receptionist about all of this and even left my email hoping that the manager would contact me immediately. I was disappointed that they didn't.

This hotel is awful. Overpriced for what you get. The hotel has an "Overlook Hotel" atmosphere. The rooms have an extremely strange smell. The rooms have very old worn down ugly furniture, the bathroom is in poor condition as some of the tiles are cracked and moldy, and don't look very clean. The rooms do not have a bathtub. Flies routinely land on your food and the food is that is available is not worthwhile, or appetizing. The staff is not very hospitable and you can't even get an espresso, when you take into account that this is Spain, an espresso is the type of coffee that is routinely served everywhere. The only thing the hotel has going for it is the scenery, which faces beautiful mountains. That said I expected Jack Nicholson to come out any minute with an ax. If you want to use the "spa" which is basically a jaccuzzi, you must make an an appointment. Even that is not available past 6:00 PM, which completely defeats the purpose if you decide to go out hiking and just want a warm soak after you get back. Spend your money elsewhere.

The hotel was run down and in need of a remake. But it’s poorly built from the start, the painting had not been done under the curtains and the general finish was as if they had run out of money before the building works completion. Our bath had a algae sealant around it, as did the shower. The food was absolutely atrocious, I have never experienced such bad food, they couldn’t even cook potato chips, the chef must of trained in a prison. As travelling in COVID times we needed Wi-fi for our travel forms which just crashed and never returned. The spa was shut but looked ok but for the general tiredness, probably from being in lockdown and unused. This hotel has the potential to be excellent but for the food and Wi-fi that will not happen. The staff were friendly and helpful. And if it was a staff review they would get a 9/10 but they are not the problem, the food and general lack of maintenance is.

Beautiful location, spacious rooms, great breakfirst, wonderfull spa, charming in an old-fashioned way, but… - The hotel feels outdated and “tired” in terms of maintenance and employees - The restaurant had good moments, but was below average compared to the many great restaurants in Spain - The outside pool was closed, which was a big disapointment travelling with kids (children are welcome in the spa, but they of course cannot play arround as kids do) - We received very little help to arrange tours, finding another pool etc. In general the most commen answer to requests in the reception was “no” and the service and kindness was not as we have experienced in the rest of Northen Spain - Location is gorgeous with mountain views but not practical, since it is in the boundary to Picos de Europa, so expect 30-45 minutes driving to reach the cable car and best trails Book it, if you appreciate a historic feeling in a hotel. Picos de Europa is by the way amazing and we had some wonderfull days with hiking, canyoning and food.

Mi valoración es teniendo en cuenta el precio de la habitación por noche de 220 euros con desayuno incluido y acceso a spa. La habitación era bonita pero nada destacable para el precio y el spa esta bien pero en la línea de corriente. Si voy al detalle, eche en falta “pack de amenities” que es habitual encontrar en los hoteles de 4 estrellas. Solo había botes de gel y champú que en mi caso no funcionaban los dispensadores y tenías que subir el botón y volverlo a bajar para poder echar el producto, bastante incómodo. El agua no había forma de regularla, o te quemabas o salía helada, pero esto entiendo que fue algo puntual que nos pasó. Y no suelo tener problemas con el tema de las almohadas pero en esta ocasión me resulto super incómoda. No voy a recordar mi estancia como esos lugares en los que dices que has descansado. El desayuno era muy abundante. Había de todo. Pero ojo que el desayuno lo tienen a 17 euros si no lo llevas incluido así que obviamente hay opciones para todos los gustos. Pero como anécdota nos paso que yo comí una bola de donuts de chocolate que estaba buenísima y mi pareja cogió otra que no la llego a comer porque estaba dura como una piedra. Lo que me decepciono fue el café, super aguado. Quien necesite un café bueno y potente de buena mañana lo va a tener que tomar fuera. No repetiría porque personalmente el precio para mí no se justifica. Por ese precio esperaba más. He estado en sitios con mucho más encanto y mucho más baratos. Como opción me alojaría en cualquier otro sitio de la zona e iría al balneario o a la cueva termal. Total decepción.

A destacar,el entorno y el servicio del hotel.La atención del personal un valor añadido en la estancia. El balneario está construido al lado del manantial .El spa ,coqueto ,para disfrutar. En cuanto a las habitaciones,amplias y limpias. El desayuno en la terraza cubierta con las vistas al exterior es una delicia.

Creo que desde que se inauguro, el mantenimiento nulo, paredes sucisimas, ducha con los railes negros, la lampara de la mesita, ni se la vio, arrancada, el somier es como de piel todo destrozado y algun huesped vomito y esta sin limpiar, deja muchisimo que desear, habitacion 112, que decir de la cena solo pasable, algo mejor el desayuno. Respecto al spa, esta bien, aunque esos cristales, o sea, indescriptibles, como he dicho con el nombre que tiene vaya decepcion.
