스팬호 로지 - B&B(Spanhoe Lodge)

Came to Spanhoe as a couple, we usually stay as a family party which is always great but hectic. This stay was so quiet and relaxing. Reece and Neil were so attentive. Breakfast was different with more choices, freshly cooked to order. We had an evening meal on the second night. There was a limited choice of pub style food but this was no problem. The desserts were superb and the house wine perfectly acceptable. We visited Oakham, Uppingham and Stamford. They were quiet and we only paid to park in Stamford. All great to visit at this time of year. Back again in a few weeks with the family.

Everything has been thought of - from the position of the light switches, through a myriad of facilities, to chocolates on the pillow. Efficient heating makes this a cosy and comfortable place to be, with very spacious rooms, good food and very pleasant service. If only there were more like this ! The rural peacefulness of the location is very welcome, and watching a Red Kite just outside hunting for his breakfast whilst I ate mine was a bonus.

Had a lovely few nights chilling out. In a quiet location - great spot to get away from it all. Lovely hosts, fabulous hot tub and small outdoor pool. Great place for family get togethers - it was quiet when we stayed so ideal for couples getaway too. Room was well equipped and Reece was very obliging and all staff were freindly. Breakfast was excellent and cooked as per requested. We were overlooking the car park and fields beyond. Will certainly return.

We have stayed with Reece and Neil for many years when going to see plays at nearby Tolethorpe Hall. It's in a very convenient location, so peaceful and tranquil. They have transformed the accommodation over the years, modernising the rooms and installing a lovely pool and hot tub. We loved the newly installed shower-room - perfect. The best part of staying at Spanhoe is Reece and Neil's cheerful and friendly service, nothing is too much trouble and we would not wish to stay anywhere else.

We had such an amazing time at Spanhoe Lodge and would definitely look to return in the future. We were a party of 7 adults and 2 babies and we took 3 rooms so we could use the interconnecting doors. This worked superb for us wanting to spend time as a family. The rooms were so large which was a nice bonus. Everywhere was clean and tidy and the team just can't do enough for you. The pool looked great although we didn't get chance to use it. My husband used the hot tub and really enjoyed it! We ordered in room dining and the food was fantastic. Cant rate this place highly enough.

Superb, having worked away from home for over 35 years this has got to be the best place I have ever stayed, great location for a peaceful night sleep , walk in shower , fridge in the room king size bed excellent selection of toiletries and the nicest staff you will ever meet

We booked spanhoe lodge after being bought a voucher for a 2 night stay. The room was lovely and clean, very spacious and homely! There was fresh milk in the fridge and biscuits by the kettle. It was so handy having a fridge in the room too especially with a 7 month old in tow! We checked in with no problems and got settled before heading the restaurant area for dinner. We had a lovely home cooked meal and reece was friendly. The next day we got up and headed in for breakfast which was delicious. The heating and hot water wasn't working so on our way out we let them know and when we returned it was all working again. The following morning when we were checking out we spoke to Neil and I had noticed a little miniature village and asked to take a look and show my little girl. Neil went and got the remote and turned the lights on for us and it was the most beautiful christmas village with a ski lift and merry go round amongst loads of others! Neil was really friendly and so kind to turn it on for us. We are planning on returning in the summer for the pool and again at christmas for all the christmas lights we heard so much about! Rooms extremely clean, owners very helpful, very quiet peaceful location. Breakfast very good, and although a sp**** evening menu, it was well cooked. And well placed for Uppingham, Rutland Water and Oundle, without the silly prices. Very good value.

We were gifted a night away here as a present and we were happy with it overall, service is very short and with minimal conversation. We had a nice enough room, it could do with some updates decor wise and a thorough dusting but was complete with all things you might ever need. Hot tub was very clean and was opened for us at a moments notice. Breakfast was really good, we were ask to pre order the night before and it was plentiful and enjoyable although again without any conversation, it just seems like they aren’t a talkative bunch. Overall a pleasant stay maybe just a couple of things to improve on. Hopefully will return in the future
