샤토 드 라 비에유 샤펠(Chateau de la Vieille Chapelle)

Beautiful place in country side of France. However me and my wife stayed one night and we had a very unpleasant experience in this place. First the host guy didnt welcome us at all and didn’t introduce himself. And he couldnt find our booking and he said to us “Are you sure you booked this place”. After that he find the booking name and said that he couldn’t understand my name. This is very unusual to hear it when you check in a hotel. When we checked out the host guy told us we only paid small mount of deposit when we book the hotel in online via ********** and we need to pay the rest of payment . But I remembered we paid all payment when we book the hotel. So we had to prove it we paid all. It was very unusual and terrible experience for us. It would say It was a beautiful place but the service was really poor.

Fantastic stay. Love the whole feel of the chateau though it took us a while to find this place. Very serene surrounding and the owners were friendly. Will choose to stay here again when i visit Bordeaux.

Excellent stay in a more remote area outside Bordeaux. The room was very comfortable and clean. Bed was comfortable. The bathroom was very well updated. The property itself is very well kept and a very interesting place to wander. They have a very friendly dog who may follow u on an evening walk! The staff at the bed and breakfast were superb. Rafael gave wine tasting in the evening that was very much appreciated. It is a family business and clearly each member has passion for it and it clearly shows.

The facility represents a true picture of the French countryside. Frederic and Fabainne were excellent hosts and extremely accommodating to all of our requests. The wine tasting experience was very educational and well worth the time.

We received a warm welcome to this beautiful spot on the banks of the Dordogne. Our room was perfect. Full of character but with a modern bathroom. Linen bed linen on the comfortable bed so a good nights sleep guaranteed. We were invited to a wine tasting which was very interesting with history of the ancient chapel and vineyard along side the information about the wines. Breakfast was excellent with homemade jams and honey, fresh orange juice and delicious bread, croissants and coffee. Excellent quality and value for money. We will return if in need of somewhere to stay in this area. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay.

Truly phenomenal. Had a surprise complementary wine tasting and they also supplied dinner, which consistent of very high quality meats, cheeses, bread and some of the best tomatoes I've ever had. All complemented by the wines of their own vineyard. There were 2 other couples there and we all had dinner at the same table (this is optional of course but we all shared the tasting and thought it would be fun to share dinner) and it was very fun. Stayed up late having wine together. No downsides. This is truly worth the full 5 stars and it was the highlight of our 5-day trip.
