호스트텔리에 라 클라어 폰타이네(Logis Hostellerie de La Claire Fontaine)

Very Disappointed Booked for three nights via ***********. No mention of ongoing building works on there or the hotels own website. On arrival the place looked so much like a building site we weren’t sure it was even open but it is. Uk health and safety regs would. It allow it to be open for residents. Reception advised us the builders don’t work over the weekend and showed us a room and the dining area. If we could have stayed elsewhere we would however the town was pretty much booked up due to a big cycling event. So we checked in. Wires hanging out of the ceilings and no space inside to sit and relax in other than one of the dining areas. Room was very small and smelt damp and of drains- but was otherwise clean and bed was ok. Buffet breakfast was good but we didn’t eat there for dinner so can’t comment on that. Sadly the builders do work weekends and showed up at 7am Saturday with their power tools! Took Sunday off but back at 7am Monday - no chance of a relaxing lie in. The booking also stated there were three Tesla electric car charging points on site. There are none. Receptionist looked for them and eventually we were shown to an outdoor domestic socket. The socket was in the middle of a flowerbed so would not be useable without an extension lead. Luckily we had one and we’re able to charge the car by leaving it plugged in for 2 days. We also travel with a small dog and were charged €14 a night extra. Never been charged that much anywhere before , and bearing in mind the state of the place a bit of a cheek really. No doggie extras were supplied - not that we expect them but wondered if that accounted for the cost. No dog poo bins on site - so the builders skip came in handy for something. I’m sure it’ll be lovely when it’s finished but in the meantime I’d avoid it.

Do not visit. The hotel is undergoing renovations and is currently unsafe and understaffed. It should be closed as unsafe. It is an embarrassment to the entire Belgium tourist industry. We were offered a room on the first floor with a balcony but the glass safety fence was not installed leaving a dangerous risk of fall. The smoke detectors were still wrapped in plastic. The air conditioning had not been installed. There was a bar area in the lovely garden but the bar was in the first floor and there was only one staff member to pour and deliver drinks. When we arrived there was a welder at work in the restaurant. Our room had scaffolding on the outside so was not secure. Our room was renovated but the toilet did not flush properly. The staff were hard worked but very kind and the food was great. So await completion of the renovations and some positive reviews

Not the first time at this Hotel and will not be the last time! The Hotel is in the middle of a major refurbishment and it will be great when it's completed. The food is still good and the service is still good. Close enough to be able to walk into La Roche en Ardenne and has some good walking routes close by. We look forward to seeing the finished article!

Lovely old fashioned charmingly well-worn inn from which to explore the rich history and beautiful surroundings.

Location is a hub for hundreds of kilometers of hiking/biking trails all around La Roche-en-Ardennes & Cielle - trailheads right outside the hotel! It's a short 2kn walk to La Roche along the highway, or a 4-5km hike to La Roche via a scenic hiking trail. There are a few bus lines that stop right in front of the hotel which can take you to/from nearby towns and transportation hubs - so there is no need to rent or use a car! The grounds are nice & enjoyable for sitting by the river with a glass of wine.

Obwohl im als auch außen am Hotel umfangreiche Umbauten stattfanden, war man als Gast nahezu nicht beeinträchtigt. Das Hotel wurde und wird massiv aufgehübscht! Dies ist in den Zimmern sowie im Frühstücksraum und im Restaurant bereits sehr gut gelungen! Dabei besteht eine Mischung aus „altem Charme“ mit neuer Betonoptik, hellem Holz und rostigem Corten-Stahl Das Frühstücksbuffet war umfangreich gut und für jeden Geschmack was dabei. Empfehlenswert ist auf jeden Fall das Restaurant, wo es täglich wechselnde Menüs gibt oder à-la-Carte.

We werden vriendelijk ontvangen aan de totaal vernieuwde receptie.(in het Nederlands. ) Prachtige ligging aan de Ourthe. Het hotel is momenteel in verbouwing... maar had geen nadelige invloed op ons verblijf. ..we zijn er enkele jaren geleden geweest ... maar de huidige renovatie is echt geslaagd. De ontbijtruimte is heel mooi . Lekker ontbijtbuffet met voldoende keuze. Alles werd heel regelmatig aangevuld. Zeer tevreden over hotelkamer met uitzicht op tuin en Ourthe. Bij het openen van venster konden we elke ochtend genieten van een vogelconcert.

Ik denk dat dit een hondenhotel is. Het was echt heel erg, overal honden die overal binnen mochten, vinden wij niet leuk op restaurant, is niet hygiënisch. Er waren werken, zelfs ‘s nachts was er lawaai, ik heb de receptie gebeld daarvoor om half twaalf. Ik had ook speciaal gebeld de dag voor onze aankomst omdat mijn man de zaterdag ging jarig zijn met de vraag of ze een attentie deden. Zelfs de zaterdag morgen heb ik nog eens gevraagd aan de dame van de receptie of ze iets gingen doen. Echter toen we ‘s avonds in het restaurant zaten was het enige dat ze deden een klein kaarsje, zoals voor de kindjes, op het dessert van mijn man en een dame die het bracht met heel weinig enthousiasme. Ze heeft ons de hele tijd bediend ook zonder veel vriendelijkheid. Een echte ontgoocheling dus. Dit hotel nooit meer voor ons.

Отель находится за городом, много зелени, речка, большая территория. Разрешено с собаками. Есть парковка. Есть прекрасный ресторан для ужинов и завтраков. очень вкусно. Есть спа. Уютный номер с балконом. Долгое обслуживание за ужином (и сильно простуженный официант). Небольшая площадь номера. Немного уже ветшающая мебель.
