Kimpton Mas Olas Resort and Spa, an IHG Hotel

We had an incredible stay at Mas Olas. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, the staff is incredibly polite and responsive, Sandro, the executive chef, is amazing, both as an individual and a chef. Pictures do not do this place justice. 10/10 stay, will definitely be coming back.

The resort is one of a kind in Baja for its incredible design, beauty, and commitment to sustainability. Every detail is conscious and intentional. This results is a magical vacation. The quality of the food and the organic gardens that feed the restaurants create a perfect dining experience. At Botanica restaurant you can sit in the garden and enjoy some of the best Italian Mediterranean food I have ever had. At Kahal they have designed an oceanfront restaurant that mimics the colors of the sunset and creates a one of a kind severance. The food is over the top in terms of technique, flavor and freshness. Centro is the restaurant you go to each day for breakfast or poolside snacks and lunch. The taco presentation was on point as well as delicious. Net net this is THE place to pamper yourself, unwind and commune with the waves and nature. Shangrila for the discerning traveler.

Serene and relaxing. Elegant and luxurious without being pretentious. Attentive staff, great rooms with plunge pools and great beachfront. Spa and workout rooms added to the experience. Multiple pools and beautiful grounds. I’ve been multiple times and will be back!

After a 70 minute drive from SJD airport we turn onto a bumpy sand road. We know immediately we are headed somewhere out of the way and special. After another 7 minutes we arrive at Mas Olas property. We were warmly greeted at the entry and given a chilled fresh pineapple juice. We are guided to our room walking thru amazing vast landscaped grounds of cacti, vegetables, flowers, ground covers, brilliant bougainvilleas and palms. The only sounds are of the ocean waves crashing, birds singing and palms rustling. The owner's striking attention to detail is everywhere. Calmness and beauty surrounds us and we start to breathe deep and smile. Nature is so respected! Our room is an Ocean View Penthouse Suite with large Plunge Pool. The view of the endless empty beach and huge mountains behind is stunning. The room decor is chic. We may not wish to leave this room. However the property has much to see and explore so we enjoy walking the gardens, the expansive beach, and all 4 pools - each with its own energy. The food offerings at Centro and Kahla are fabulous! We enjoyed lunches at Centro where the fish tacos, guacamole-pico de gallo with chips and ceviches are top notch. Dinner at Kahal is an experience as this restaurant is stunning in its design and also has full sunset views right over the ocean. But most important is the quality of the food. Head Chef Sandro Falbo is passionate about his creations. Every meal was the freshest - using ingredients from the garden and sea and presented with flair. What brings all these fantastic elements together is the staff which is professional and warm. We felt like family the very first day and made to know they were there to take very special care of us. Special thank you to the GM Armando who answered many questions before arriving, greeted us at arrival and checked on us daily. Sandro the chef is outstanding in his creations and so easy to talk to, Daniela at Centro made margaritas to our liking and quickly addressed some requests. Centro staff - Galvin, Michael, Eric, William, Tony and Jonathan took good care of us each day by the pool. A special thank you to the housekeeping and gardening staff. We have been to many high end places in the Cabo area since our first stay many years ago and and Mas Olas is as good as it gets. If you wish a luxury resort that is peaceful, beyond beautiful, spacious, with great service and excellent food go now. The drive from the airport is well worth it. We can not wait to return!

Great visit. Truly unique property. The rooms were very comfortable and well-appointed. Loved the pool on my patio overlooking the ocean. I’ve never seen anything like the gardens and vegetation on the property —-both spectacular. And quite peaceful. Entering the property was like an escape from the rest of the world. The highlight was dinner at Kahal. The food was exquisite and we had a great conversation with Chef Sandro — what a great and interesting guy! Well done all around.

My fiance and I stayed at Mas Olas for a few nights while in baja this spring and we were truly blown away!! It's a must visit! THE EXPERIENCE: Pulling up to the property feels like a unique experience in itself as you have to travel a few minutes down a bumpy & unassuming dirt road before you reach the hotel, but as soon as you enter through the main doors you're instantly transported to what feels like a desert oasis. The vibes were truly magical & it really felt like we had the opportunity to craft our stay to be exactly what we wanted because Mas Olas has so much to offer. Our time spent in the villa (which i'll talk more about below) was so relaxing and romantic, and we really enjoyed the total privacy. In our more adventurous moments we absolutely loved hanging out at the beachfront pool (STUNNING!) and its adjacent restaurant, Kahal (drooling just thinking about the sunday seafood brunch). Amazing food & delicious drinks & a really fun mix of people to mingle with! And our stay wouldn't have been complete without a trip to the spa to fully unwind -- absolutely incredible in every sense. The main spa building itself is beautiful, the apothecary was unreal (you can actually go the garden and pick out your own fresh herbs to infuse into oils!!!!! never experienced this before - so so special!), and I have to give a special shoutout to the himalayan salt sauna. 10/10 spa experience. Overall, we loved every minute of our stay since it offered something unique. THE PROPERTY: The grounds of this hotel deserve their own blurb haha. It was unlike any other luxury hotel property I've been to in that every inch of the place has been so carefully given a purpose. We were lucky enough to chat with one of the owners, Bill, who also happened to be the mastermind behind the landscaping and he told us some of the coolest things I've ever heard. First, the hotel is home to the largest botanical garden of native plants in baja - walking through it is amazing!!! Second, while the hotel was being built, Bill & his team tagged every SINGLE plant that needed to be excavated for construction, planted them elsewhere, and once construction was complete replanted them in the exact same spots. Hearing that just really blew my mind because it showed how thoughtful and intentional every detail of creating Mas Olas is. There's obviously a huge emphasis on embracing the natural beauty of wonder of baja, and also massive value placed on sustainability, which is awesome. And that reminds me - there's a desalinization plant on the property that filters all of the water so you can drink straight out of the sink if you need to. Brilliant. THE VILLA: We decided to stay in one of the oceanfront villas and it was the nicest hotel room I've stayed in anywhere in the western hemisphere. This trip was one of healing and quiet elegance for us. The property is stunning and everything perfect for a couples get away. The service impeccable and Galvan made us the most fabulous drinks and gave us a special cocktail making class with mezecal. The food the service everything perfect. The room and beds best I have ever been in. Dont hesitate to stay here.

If you’re looking for privacy, attention to detail and the best food, Rancho Pescadero is the place for you. We love to travel and this has become one of our favorite hotels. Andres spoiled us our entire stay and made everything possible. Special thanks to Daniel, Salvador, Elliott and Alejandro who also made our stay really special. Chef Sandro is amazing and I wouldn’t miss Sunday brunch, you’re in for a treat. We stayed in a beachfront villa and we would definitely stay there again, it’s stunning! We stayed for five nights and wish we could’ve stayed there forever, can’t wait to come back!

I typically do not write reviews but feel that it may be helpful to add a perspective here that I myself would have appreciated before visiting. This resort had been on my radar since before COVID. I had wanted to visit before it was acquired by Hyatt and I traveled here in May of this year with a friend - we often go on wellness getaways together and decided to try Rancho Pescadero this time. The marketing of the resort plays up wellness. However, many of the expected options were quite limited (especially complimentary ones) and the gym was rudimentary. I will say that the yoga instructor was great, the food was quite good as well and the grounds with the garden were lovely. The sunsets were great. That is the best I can really say. There are no indoor dining options and no TVs anywhere. I like to make the choice myself whether I want to watch something or not. When we checked in and were shown to our room, we were immediately disappointed with the view - we had paid extra for an ocean front room and it was really more of a hill view with only a bit of ocean visible in the distance. When we asked for other room options, we were told that there are very limited options for rooms with double beds. It felt incongruous for a property marketing itself as a wellness retreat - perhaps their target audience was not for two friends traveling together? We were shown one room that we liked but then we were told it actually wasn't available after we returned to our room to pack. How can a resort that is marketing wellness not be able to satisfy better accommodation options for two women traveling together? We also had problems with the A/C in our room making strange sounds - we made that known at the front desk two days in a row and it was never fixed. I had to sleep with earplugs. At this price point, I found the responsiveness of the management and their reactions to issues to be less than satisfactory and I honestly could not get past that feeling the entire time I was there. The manager Henar told me this was the first time she got this kind of feedback. I felt like our concerns were dismissed. To be fair, we had flowers and chocolates sent to our rooms and a small credit was given but it represented such a negligible amount relative to the bill as to almost have been worthless. Ultimately, we were stuck with a room that did not meet expectations. We were also overcharged for our transportation to/from the airport. They have bigger issues to deal with now with the tragic deaths of guests, but I could not have recommended this resort even without this recent news. I had provided all of this feedback to Hyatt in a survey upon our return and no one ever followed up. Disappointing experience, at best.
