Very cute little spot centrally located in La Fortuna, easy to get around and grab what you need.

Cheap stay and friendly staff. Breakfast is hot dogs, fried or scrambled eggs, fruit, plantains, gallopinto (rice and beans mixed) for $7. Swim-up bar on site with plenty of hammocks and lounge chairs. Pool water is too cold to swim or lounge in however. They have a kitchenette with fridge in the common area for shared use. No toiletries provided except for towels in the room. The air conditioner unit in our room only functioned in ON or OFF modes and the other buttons to change settings didn’t appear to work at all so the room was either too humid and hot or freezing. The bed only has a single thin sheet on top which is not a blanket like one would hope. Two pillows and two mini pillows per bed. Staff keep the main areas very tidy and are helpful with planning tours or other questions about the area. This is located perfectly in the middle of La Fortuna action with a delicious smelling panaderia next door and tons of restaurants, shops, and other attractions within walking distance or minutes away by car. Plenty of street parking available. Comically large shower with good water pressure. Would stay again but would bring a blanket if it were feasible.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Diego at the front desk was extremely helpful in giving us tips and helping us book tours. The rooms were also clean and the AC kept us cool. The hostel is centrally located and we had a stunning view of the arenal volcano from our window.

We booked Arenal Poshtel as it looked like a fun place to stay whilst in La Fortuna. When we arrived in the evening, Diego got us all checked in and helped us book our day trip for the next day. His funny, warm persona made us feel super welcome and immediately enjoy the a**osphere at Poshtel. Our room was super spacious and great value for money. All air-conditioned. There was an option to add on breakfast, but we chose to buy bits from the bakery next door. The location of Poshtel is perfect, located right in the centre of La Fortuna and in walking distance of all the things you need. Great place to stay!

Great value for the money! I'm too old for this place and it's bit noisy. The walls aren't insulated. Great Staff. I highly recommend this to those under age 30 !

It was nice and quiet for us to unwind from the very long trip over to La Fortuna from Hermosa. The reception was helpful when we needed new towels although it wasn't cleaning day, and organising taxis for us to get to the thermals and the volcano. The pool is small but cozy, our children enjoyed the hammocks a lot after getting kiddie cocktails at the swim up bar. We liked that it was located in the middle of town, but our 3 night stay was so tranquil once we got back inside. If we can handle the long drive over another time, we'd stay here again.

This was one of our favorite stays yet. Our kids loved staying in the colorful ‘pods’ and we enjoyed the comfortable beds! Also the pool was fun, warm and clean. The bar had a great selection of drinks but not many food options. The service was amazing.

I lived in a dorm room, and the room was horrible. The bed made noises if you just moved a little, you could feel all of the springs in your bag and it got a lot of mole on the walls. The pool was the best thing about this stay.

We stayed here as a couple. Pros: Large and spacious room with AC. Nice pool and aesthetics to the place. Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Can book tours directly from the front desk. Great value. Central location in La Fortuna, close to many restaurants, cafes, and shops. Also close walk to the Sloth Watching Trail. Cons: Everyone seemed more into being on their phones. It was hard meeting others. The bar inside the hostel blasts clubby reggaeton music from 430 to 40pm every day. Nothing but this genre of music. On one of the days, one of the guests asked the DJ to play some mainstream EDM. But then it would just go right back to clubby reggae after one track. It's not relaxing at all and no one is looking to rage. Would be better if they played music that was chill or relaxing, and catered to travelers.
